THIS PROJECT IS VERY BUGGY AND GLITCHY, BUT CAN STILL BE PLAYABLE. Since baseball requires precise timing, this project requires hitting the ball precisely. It's not too precise, and you can get a hang of it with practice. It's a game with a challenge, not an easy one! ;) ======= PLAY BALL!!!! ======== Batter ready? Play ball! A vectorized Scatch remake of the 2006 Nintendo Wii Game will make it feel like the original, but a whole lot more simplified! Click the green flag to begin, and press "A" and "B" at the same time on your keyboard to start your adventure! ========== HOW TO PLAY ========== Move the bat using your trackpad, and press space to swing your bat. Time it just right with the ball, and you'll either just hit the ball, hit a home run, or wham it out of the park! 6 strikes and you're out! ========== BUGS TO FIX ========== This project is a work-in-progress, (or a W.I.P.), so expect some bugs. Here's a list of known ones: 1. Swinging your bat locks its motion for about 3 seconds. 2. Swinging your bat when a ball is not pitched or if the title screen is displayed will treat the ball as "missed." 3. Any ball that's not hit by the player and touches the end of the screen will not count as a strike. ========== FUTURE UPDATES? ======== 1. Goal Complete! 2. Add more ads on the screen in the stadium 3. Change the color pallette or add more detail to the bat 4. Add a Mii(?) 5. Change the sky or time of day 6. Make the ball fly after hitting it 7. Add a collision effect when the ball is hit 8. Add a hit streak counter(?) ========== HUD KEY ========== You may notice during gameplay there's a layout on the right side of the screen. These aren't very clear without context as they're describe in-game with icons. Fear not! Here's a key to what each of the sections in the HUD element mean: #1. The amount of home runs you've hit so far. The number in the parenthesis indicated how many feet your ball has traveled total throughout your gameplay, home run or not. #2. This element with the arrow on it indicates how far the ball flew the last time you successfully hit it. It updates the next time you hit it. . This element shows how many balls you've hit so far. . The element with the "X" indicates the amount of balls you've missed. . This element with a collision icon displays the balls successfully hit out of the total balls thrown to you. It also displays the percentage of how many you've hit. It can be used for determining the probability of how many balls you can hit. ========== DISCLAIMER ========== As you might notice, this project can output multiple outcomes when you hit the ball: . A normal hit that has some distance to it, but does not go far enough to be considered a home run . A home run . A home run that went farther than the bounds of the stadium (referred to as "Out of the Park") This project does not generate these outcomes based off of your skill, but creates the data using a random number generator modified to increase the chance of "normal" hits and make "Out of the Park" shots a bit rarer. ========== COMMENT! ========== What is your accuracy? Write it in this format: " I got 5/10 accuracy." or " I hit 5 balls out of 10 and got 50%" Please don't reply to others comments with rude content such as . Bringing them down because their scores are lower . Bringing personal or friendship issues to this thread . Calling them a liar because of their good score . Advertise ========== ADVERTISEMENTS ========== We get some Scratchers want to be seen. For this project, I'm allowing advertisements for one ad per person. However, on that project, you must advertise this one in the comments. You may not post more than one ad link, or use another account to post another. You also may not spam. You cannot add more than one link to one comment. The ad may not include things like: "My project is better! Check it out! [link]" "This project sucks. Check out mine. [link]" "This one is good, but check out what I did! [link]" Ads also must be kept appropriate and respectful. Comments and ads that don't follow these rules will immediately be removed and severely offensive ones will be both removed and reported. ========== REMIX ========== You can remix this project as your own! :) Please give credit if you remix or backpack any elements from this project, as I spent hours creating this. Please don't do small-change or no-change remixes. Thanks! :) ========== THANKS FOR PLAYING MY GAME ========== Changelog: RELEASE v1.0.0 - Initial Release MAJOR UPDATE! v1.0.1 - Added a game point (6 strikes) Fixed bat bug on the menu screen Removed baseball practice music Added results screen Added global world record Easter egg where if you hold the record your cursor is red.
