Hi! I have gathered the vote(s) for my 20+ milestone celebration. 26 FOLLOWERS YAS The total consensus (1 vote :D) decided upon an art process. Enjoy! (tap slides + scroll thru desc for corresponding info) 1. Sketch. Tip: Use references! 2: Refined sketch. Tip: Throughout the piece, remember to flip the canvas and use the liquify tool to fix any proportions, things that don’t look right, etc. 3: Base colours. Tip: Colour pick from your ref. 4: Basic shading on multiply layer. Use a clipping mask. Tip: When shading, consider color theory. For example: I used a light purple for the shading on the skin, complemented by subtle tones of blue and orange. Tip 2: Make sure to use a mix of both hard and soft shadows. 5: Applied further shading using a textured brush. (Multiply + clipping mask) 6: Established basic lighting. (On add mode with a low opacity) Tip: For lighting on skin, to make it look more realistic, apply a technique called ‘subsurface scattering’. I can’t explain it very well, but look it up! It will help a lot for painting more realistic skin. 7: Applied darker mood shading. Dark green colour on overlay mode. 8: Drew the light for the torch. Yellow beam on an add layer. Then I duplicate that layer, apply a Gaussian blur, and Chromatic aberration. 9: Add any extra effects, and we’re done! <3 Tips: Additional effects I like to use for my pieces are: - Adding a noise layer. - Duplicating the colour layer and adding a Gaussian blur. Makes it look soft <3 - Adding a chromatic aberration layer for spicy colours. -Applying an overlay with a bright colour and applying halftone. No backgrounds today, folks. They are hard lmao.
