!!!!!!!!!!! ( S P O I L E R S) !!!!! Sonic Superstars was AWESOME! I love the new environments that you can explore throughout the entire game! It was also the first time in ever i got to experience Classic Sonic in 2.5D since my gameplay on Sonic Forces, as Classic Sonic, and it's a great return for a 2D sonic fan like me! Now before i continue on with the good things about this game, i want to start off with the things i....... just........ didn't really enjoy. First on is the boss fights. Now, when this game was getting announced, i really thought that the boss fights were going to be like the original bosses from Sonic 1, 2, 3 & K, and Mania. But they did something TOTALLY different. This time, they made the bosses a bit..... challenging. It's not a bad thing, because i didn't want the bosses in this game to be EASY PEASY. I also wanna say that the developers tried to make the bosses have the same difficulty like Sonic Frontiers did. An example of this is the Fang boss fight in Golden Capital Act 2. It's an auto scroll level which has tons of fire, lava, and death hazards you can put yourself into. I also died a multitude of times, but at the end of the day, it was mostly my fault. I wanna talk about the main game itself. It's great! The first zone, Bridge Island Zone, is a tropical island with lots of rings, waterfalls, and enemies. I like to look at the backgrounds while i'm playing the game, and i think they look cool. Sure, they are a bit blurry, but they still fit in with the game. Special Stages are one big thing in a sonic game. They are sometimes challenging, mediocre, popular, and replayable. In Sonic Superstars, the special stages are really cool. You basically have to hold on the the blue orbs while pressing the X button, (PS5 & 4) A button, (XBOX) or B button (Switch), while the chaos emerald floats away. some are challenging, like the green and white emerald, and some are tricky while still being simple, blue, cyan, and red. Each emerald provides an emerald power, which you can use to create clones of yourself, swim up waterfalls, and blast yourself into mid air. Because of this, Elemental Shields are COMPLETELY removed, and instead replaced with the shield from Sonic 1, and a new magnet shield which is similar to the Electric shield from Sonic 3 and Sonic Mania, only this time, no double jump. There are 4 characters to play as in Story Mode, which are Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, and a newcomer, Amy which was recently added as a DLC for Sonic Origins. She now has a double jump, and your hammer acts as a shield when you jump. There is also an extra playable character for when you beat Story Mode, which is Trip. She has her own abilities such as a double jump like amy, and she can scale walls like knuckles, only faster. Overall, Sonic Superstars is a good first step into 2D sonic. It's not Bad, and it's not great... It's just Good. I did however encounter some problems in the game, as well as some minor bugs/ glitches in the game itself. Also, i do not care what the critics say about the game, bc it's not bad at all. But, at the end of the day, everyone has their own opinion. I hope you enjoyed my review, and let me know what you think of Sonic Superstars! Also, i would like to add that Sonic Mania 2 is still in progress, and i'm not lying. I am trying to make sure that the game does not has tons of bugs or glitches before it releases, so be patient! Don't forget to Heart, Star, Follow, and remix for more like this! Peace out!
