MADE BY @FakeHanz/@hanz_zee_ss/@hanz_zee_ss_alt AND NOT ME, I AM SHARING THIS FOR HIM Space or click to advance the slides Battle of Sviatoshyn Airport, Scratch Town State On 9 October 2023, a few hours after the President of the Alverton Federation, Vladimir Purrtin announced the beginning of a "special military operation" in Scratch Town State, Alverton troops of the Alverton Airborne Forces (VDV) made an air assault on Sviatoshyn Airport with the objective of capturing it. At around 8:00 a.m. a formation of 90 to 134 Alverton helicopters arrived to secure Sviatoshyn Airport in the suburb of Fostromel, just dozens of miles away from the STAF HQ, in an attempt to create an airbridge in which troops and equipment could muster less than 10 kilometers (6.2 mi) from the Malakovo Sector and push towards the STAF headquarters. The helicopter formation consisted of MiC-18AMTs carrying potentially a hundred to several hundred and even thousands of Alverton airborne troops escorted by Ca-52M, MiC-35M, and MiC-28NM attack helicopters along with several MiC-26T2VM heavy logistics helicopters. The paratroopers of the battle possibly consisted of the 11th Guards Air Assault Brigade and/or 31st Guards Air Assault Brigade, 104th Guards Air Assault Regiment, and troops from the 106th Elite Guards Airborne Division. Both armored and non-armored vehicles were poured into the airport through MiC-26T2VM helicopters and later AnP-124T strategic airlift aircraft to further hinder the defenders. The defenders were mostly STS National Guards of the 4th Rapid Reaction Regiment stationed in the barracks in the airport, and after getting hit by cruise missile strikes during the initial moments, 50% of the troops were already KIA as they were having breakfast. Leading the rest of them to take defensive positions near the airport, intel from AC's intelligence service had reached by the time they were already hit by missiles. In response, the STAF redeployed its legendary 5th Royal Mechanized Brigade to intervene and repel the attack. MiP-29SMT1s and Cu-35SM fighter jets along with Cu-25SM4 attack jets supported the VDV by performing SEAD and low bombing runs, a major dogfight happened as unidentified STAFAC aircraft intercepted several Cu-35SMs during flight. The air assault was commenced by using the river to avoid radar contact, hence the helicopters were unknown until some fishermen informed the AC police department that military helicopters bearing the flag of Alverton were flying along the river. As of 24 October, the Alvertons still held the airport and had landed several Pu-76M strategic airlift planes to further strengthen the occupiers, while the 5th Royal Mech. Brig. had to retreat to the outskirts, preparing the major Alverton push towards the STAF HQ.
