┏━•❃°•°❀°•°❃•━┓ ▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒ 100%! ↬ IT'S DIWALI! (Not really) --- ┗━•❃°•°❀°•°❃•━┛ --- ┏━•❃°•°❀°•°❃•━┓ ↬ It's every Indian's favorite holiday! ■ On this day, the people of India buy a new dress (it is a tradition!) and celebrate the festival of lights, also to show that good beats evil. ■ In this celebration, we invite Laxmi, the goddess of wealth. ■When Rama returned from exile, the were no lights or torches! So, the people lit up clay pots instead. ■The little girls wear lehengas while the women wear sarees. You also make beautiful and colorful Rangolis every day. ■ There are usually 5 days of celebration. The third day is the actual Diwali. On the first day, you buy gold and silver coins with the photo of the Goddess Laxmi on it. ■ On the second day, you should wake up early and put on 'utna' on your body, then take a bath. It is better to put turmeric in it. ■ On the fourth day, we present 56 dishes to Lord Krishna. ■ And on the fifth day, is like a mini version of Raksha Bandhan. On this day, sisters worship their brothers and pray that they will be okay. The only difference is that we do not tie rakhis. ┗━•❃°•°❀°•°❃•━┛ --- ┏━•❃°•°❀°•°❃•━┓ ↬ This is personally one of my favorite Indian festivals. It brings so much joy! (Unlike Halloween) And it truly has great meaning and significance to it. ┗━•❃°•°❀°•°❃•━┛
