Chapter Twenty-One Dear Harmony, I hope you’re okay. I haven’t heard anything from you, so I got really worried. If you need me, send Dorka my owl back and I’ll come and get you. Maybe you could ask the Malfoys if you could come and visit me in London this afternoon? I’m sure my parents would be okay with that. If you can, send back Dorka immediately and I can come and get you. L0ve Fennec.” “Well?” Lucius glowered at her from his chair, Dorka, Fennec’s owl, on his arm. “What does it say?” Harmony clutched the letter tightly. “Can I go and visit the Smiths, Lucius… Father?” she asked nervously. “They offered to come and get me.” Narcissa entered the room. “I think that’s lovely, Delilah. Of course you can! You can use the Floo Network.” She sniffed. “That’s fine,” Harmony swallowed. Lucius nodded, and walked haughtily out of the room. Harmony looked up at her mother. “Mother, I would prefer to be called Harmony, if that’s okay.” Narcissa extended a pale, cold fingertip and tipped up her daughter’s chin. “You are Delilah Narcissa Malfoy,” she said, “and your name is Delilah.” Harmony felt tears coming to her eyes. “Okay.” She turned and left the room before Narcissa could call after her. She walked slowly up the stairs, and as she reached the landing she ran straight into Draco. “Draco…” Harmony faltered. She had barely spoken to or seen him since she’d arrived. Draco glared at her. “Who’s writing to you?” Harmony glanced at the letter in her hand. “Fennec.” Draco’s l!ps pursed. “You mean your b0yfr!end.” “Draco…” Harmony had no idea what to say. “Can’t we just put this behind us? It’s not yours or my fault.” Draco shrugged. “No.” he brushed past her and walked downstairs. Harmony walked into her room, and immediately wrote out a quick letter to Fennec. “Come by Floo Powder. Harmony.” Was all it read. She sent Shift immediately, and at about 12:00 there was a flash of green light in the fireplace, and Fennec appeared, covered in soot but his brown hair immediately recognizable. “Harmony!” he rushed forward and embraced her, covering her in soot. “Oops, sorry.” He apologized, trying to brush her off, before he noticed the steely glares of the Malfoys watching him. “Good evening, Mr. Malfoy, Mrs. Malfoy…” he glanced at Draco, “Draco. Thank you for granting your permission for Harmony to visit me.” “It’s fine,” said Narcissa after an uncomfortable silence. “Delilah.” Harmony walked slowly towards her mother, who stood and gave her a awkward hug. “Goodbye, Mother.” She said haltingly. “Goodbye, Delilah.” Narcissa watched as Harmony took a handful of Floo Powder and with a flash of green light, she and Fennec vanished. When Harmony could open her eyes and breathe, she found herself in a rather shabby looking lounge room. At least it was, compared to the Malfoy’s manor. But Harmony thought it looked homey at first glance. A short woman with black hair and brown eyes stepped forward. “Hello my dear Harmony,” she smiled and shook Harmony’s hand. “I’m Hannah Smith, Fennec’s mother.” Harmony felt instantly welcomed. She smiled at the woman who was a whole head shorter than Fennec. “And this is my husband Jordan,” said the woman, gesturing to a tall man with Fennec’s eyes and hair in the chair in the corner. He barely acknowledged Harmony, instead shifted the paper slightly. “And these,” said Fennec as three small children hurled themselves into the room, “Are Eliza, Olivia and Dylan.” Harmony smiled. Dylan was a mini Fennec, but instead of brown hair he had his mother’s black hair. Olivia was short, like her mother, with blue eyes and blonde hair. And Eliza, the oldest after Fenec, looked exactly like Clara Crawford, Fennec’s cousin. “Hi Fennec’s g!rlfr!end!” said Olivia excitedly. “Very nice to meet you!” Harmony and Fennec went red to the roots of their hair, awkwardly glancing anywhere but each other, while Dylan laughed and Eliza grinned. “Anyway,” said Fennec, rubbing the back of his head, “Come on, I’ll give you a tour of the house.” He led Harmony out of the lounge room and into a room filled with books. “This is a cool library!” said Harmony, trying to break the silence. She was totally un-prepared when Fennec grabbed her shoulders and turned her to face him, a frown on his normally cheery face. “Fenn?” Fennec frowned, and looked deep into her eyes, gripping her shoulders tightly. “Harmony, why did they call you Delilah?”
