Gracefully, the cat danced across the pathway as scattered sparks of light gleamed in the darkness. A majestic building made of starlight loomed ahead. Sitting nearby a dazzling she-cat turned and stared at him intently. Startled, the tom leaped down and spread his wings as he fell through the clouds and onto the ground. The she-cat ignored his presence as if she was not aware of him and walked inside the building. The dazed tom looked around at his surroundings. Green spikes jutted out from the ground, and he could here songs and laughter. Cautiously, the winged cat climbed up a tall, hollow tower. He looked down into a clearing and saw cats dancing and celebrating as some held lights and twirled around them. The tom crept into a dark opening and was filled with warmth as the flames swarmed around him. His heart leaped, from fear and excitement before he rushed outside. Panting the tom wondered if he should head home, but there was still more to see, and it was not yet dawn. The tom flapped his wings and began flying toward the smell of salt and water. He dove and saw the bright colours of fish and other waterlife. He clumsily swam through the waves, gazing at the underwater beauty. He shivered as the water grew chilly and then became ice and dirt and snow. The cold was harsh but comforting in a way completely different to the burning hot flames. He could see creatures made of snow, bears, weasels, owls, and even some cats. He squinted as the sun rose from the sheets of ice; it had been a long journey. Heart pounding, he dashed into the sky. Hopefully, he wasn’t too late. As he rose above the clouds he was filled with a feeling of dread. Turning the tom noticed a small house and carefully crept to the window. A fluffy white tom was sleeping soundly, twitching every now and then. He began to stir and as he opened his eyes bright starlight began to shine. And then…
