Origin Story: Redd Lewis was an ordinary girl. She lived in a perfectly normal house, on a perfectly normal street, and went to a perfectly normal school. She had a twin, Violet, and a mother and father, Kali and Damien, geneticists. They weren’t the best parents; they usually ignored them or commanded the two girls to do something. But that didn’t make her unusual. Or so she thought. Of course, Redd knew that her parents were geneticists, scientists that studied, or messed with, in their case, genes. But she didn’t know that they altered her and Violet’s genes when they were infants. Not until January third, 3097. “It’s so cold,” Violet said, shivering. “Y-you didn’t bring a coat?” Redd asked, also shivering. They were walking home from school, both disgruntled. In addition to the weather, they also got a mountain of homework from their teachers at Pinewood High School. “I wish I could see where most of the heat is,” Redd said with a sigh. And that was when it happened. She was seeing in infrared! “Wow…” She explained what happened to Violet. “Really? I’m supposed to believe that. Am I going to see Ultraviolet? Am I supposed to say, "I want to see the invisible" or something?" She asked then gasped. “Crow’s feathers are in ultraviolet, right? Maybe you weren't lying…” Violet said, rubbing her eyes. “Hah!” Redd said. “I wonder why… hang on, our parents study genes, right? What if they…” She trailed off, the thought too horrible for words. “Messed with our genes.” Violet finished for her, swallowing loudly. “Well, whatever. We don’t have time to worry about that. How do we stop it?” she thought for a moment. “I wish to stop seeing the heat.” It worked, so Violet said it too, changing heat to invisible. “Cool! We have super powers!” Redd said excited then stopped when she saw Violet’s expression. “The teasing…” Violet thought. Evil, bitter questions raced through her mind. “Why are our parents so horrible?” and “How is Redd okay with this?” and “What do I do now?” Only one answer came to mind. ‘KiII.’ Now it is August of 3097, and many things have happened over those six months. Kali and Damien were dead, killed by Violet. Violet, obviously, turned evil, calling herself 'ultraviolet’ and she could command crows and turn invisible in addition to seeing ultraviolet. Redd became ‘Infrared’ Trying to stop Violet for k!II!ng her parents, Redd had the power to fly and control snakes, and of course, see infrared. Neither told anyone, but didn't try to hide it either. That is how they became what they are today, super hero and super villain.
