Press space to pick a petal... 3 parts of the poem (in chronological order) on 4 different slides Enjoy! Have just updated it a tad to make it look more effective:) Full screen recommended https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/95188541/ - please check this out If you want to add music and nothing else, that's fine. I probably won't add music because it comes out all crackly :P I do have another published poem called 'Cats like ice cream sundaes', but I want to see what people make of this beforehand. 'Cats like ice cream sundaes came fourth place in a poetry competition in Suffolk, so I just missed out on the third place prize :/ The link for it is above:)
PUBLISHED TWICE?????!!!!!!!!! WHAT'S WITH THIS POEM??!! I want to thank my old primary school teacher, Mrs Costin, for setting this as a task to write a poem in the style of a Mexican author's poem ( there were many to choose from ) and I chose one called Lemon Tree, which included the lines 'feel the bark' and 'rub the leaves under your feet', which truly inspired me to write one about my loves: cherry blossom. So when I wrote it, I made it powerful and strong. That is why there is a little description of the poem next to the title : to capture the reader's attention. But when I moved up to secondary school (high school),things had changed. People kept calling me 'little kid' and 'thing' and other assorted names which I did not appreciate. But the Head of my Year group (year 7), Mrs Plumb, really did support me in my confidence of change ( I do not like change ), so I would like to thank her. And what would I do without the Head of English at Stour Valley Community School , Mr Spalding. There was a poetry competition throughout England and I entered with this very poem ( yes, this very project poem! ) and reached the finals in my area ( East Anglia - Suffolk ( I am from Suffolk ), Norfolk, Cambridgeshire, Essex and possibly Hertfordshire ). When I heard the news, I was utterly spellbound. My chest and heart pumped so hard that I could hear it, and when Mr Spalding read it out in front of my entire computing class, I could see a delicate tear forming in the corner of my left eye. So, the results came. This poem is being PUBLISHED and sold in February 2016. It has also been entered into the national competition and I now stand the chance of winning a huge Apple ( the tech. make, NOT the fruit ) prize bundle. And finally, thankyou to everyone in the featured POETRY studio, for adding this poem. Take, a bow, for you are all stars! :) Wish me luck in the finals! F21 x
