Chapter 5 My vision blurred, but I could make out the horror in everyone's faces. "Alex? What did you just say?" Chiron asked. I wanted to say something like "Help me! What in Hades is going on!" But I couldn't even manage a weak sound. But the person talking through me was able to speak. And so he did. "I said the truth. I let Thiron loose in Camp Half-Blood. And," That was when my eyes flashed blood red, which is not possible, "do you know what that means?" Chiron gasped slightly. "Yes," I said, smiling that devious smile that was not mine. "The prophecy of the End." "What the Hades are you talking about?" Andrew asked, looking confused and terrified at the same time. My newly colored blood red eyes shifted to Andrew. "The Prophecy of the End. Back in Ancient times, two prohecies were foretold. The first was about a savior, or destructor of Olympus and all that. But that was only the first. You see, the second was prophecied and named the End. Oh but this prophecy.... is much more ancient than the other. This one was foretold by the beings before Gaea. This was one foretold by the First, Gaea's ancestor. This was the prophecy of the End... Deep in blood, all is torn From Olympus to Earth, a child is born Destined to rule, this prophecy is read For the child to come, is the Ruler of the Dead." Everyone was quiet, until Chiron finally spoke. "Whoever this is hosting Alexander Reed's body, leave now! And the End prophecy was just a myth, that will NOT happen." I laughed, and as I laughed I noticed my hair slowly turning midnight black. I suddenly felt the need to hurt somebody. To lie. To steal. To destroy. "Oh you foolish centaur. It's not a myth. It is coming true, right before your very eyes," I said. Then, in an impulse I started to attack Andrew. "Be gone from here!" A voice said from behind us. I screamed, and my hair and eyes returned to their normal color, and I felt whoever was in me leave. I sank to the ground feeling weaker than ever. Andrew and Kayla rushed toward me, and glanced to behind me. There stood a man with a long curly beard and twinkling, brown and blue eyes, which were constantly swirling. He wore a long blue robe and his hair was gray. He seemed like a nice old man, except for the fact he looked very angry. "What was a Caithus, of all things, doing here?" The man said, irritated. Chiron saw the man, and somewhat bowed. "Morpheus, hello." Morpheus saw Chiron, and acknowledged him with a nod. "As for the Caithus, I have no idea why it was here. But it claimed it was the host of this boy here. His name is Alex Reed," Chiron said. Once I heard that this man was the God I immediately said, "Hello. Sir, I mean hello, sir." I spoke as loud as I could, but I still trembled. Morpheus nodded, still angry. "Well, the Caithus better not come back, or I'll show him. I'll put him straight to sleep and then I'll.." Morpheus muttered things, but wasn't angry at us anymore. "Wait... Morpheus? Aren't you the god of--" Andrew started. "Yes, yes, yes. I am the great Morpheus, God of Dreams. Hold your applause," Morpheus said, smiling to himself." Then he looked at me and said, "Hey! Yer the boy who was resting in the spare room! You're looking alright lad! You were pale as Hades earlier ye know! It's a miracle that snow showed up, or I reckon you would be flat as a pancake right now!" That left me confused. "Did you just say.. snow?" Kayla chimed in saying, "Yeah, snow appeared at the ground the moment you landed. It was weird, but I'm glad it happened." The water shimmered and Chiron disappeared. Morpheus saw my confused and weak/pale face so he declared loudly, "I bet you all are tired and hungry. Is anybody up for breakfast for dinner? I make mean waffles!" Andrew immediately jumped up and said, "I'm starving let's eat!" Through all the thoughts I had, the thing inside me, and me passing out when I fell, I hadn't even felt my stomach grumbling. "I could go for some scrambled eggs," I said. Kayla nodded. "Well, alrighty then! Follow me, it'll be ready in a jiff! In the meantime you can watch the leaves fall, and you might see it snow, it'll be winter soon after all." "Ok," I agreed, and we all went down the stairs. I was realizing just how big the place was. I spotted at least 10 gigantic rooms, a living room with leather sofa's a plasma screen TV, and had more beds than chairs. Then again, this was the God of Dream and Sleep's house, so it made sense. Andrew watched Morpheus cook, and he also stole a waffle before it touched the plate. I was on the large balcony, seeing the leaves fall down, when Kayla joined me. "Hey," I said, looking at her. "Hi," Kayla said, and a strand of her dark curls blew into her face. "I bet you miss Camp Half-Blood." "Yeah," I replied. The truth was that I actually didn't want to return to Camp Half-Blood, not with everyone thinking I let Thironis in. But what if I did? No, thats not possible. I would remember if I did that. (CONTINUES ON NOTES AND CREDITS)
A leaf blew onto the balcony. My heart fell heavy when I thought about Percy, and how Annabeth was feeling. And Grover. "You're lucky," Kayla said, looking at me. I glared at Kayla. Lucky was the opposite of what I was. "Lucky how?" I asked her. Kayla didn't smile, blush, or frown. She said plainly,"You never knew your parents." That made me quiet for a few moments, then I said, "How's that lucky?" Kayla breathed heavily. "Up until I was 9 I lived with my, let's say abusive father in Ohio. I loved him even though he bruised me, because he wasn't always that way. It was when he started drinking that he became abusive. Then when I was 10, he died. I moved to New York with my step-mom. Not that she was much better. She never payed attention to me, and I only got a meal every day or so. If I did something wrong I would get bruised under," she pointed to under her right eye and continued,"this eye. Then when I was 12 I ran away, and my step-mom didn't even care, other than the fact that her little servant was gone. I found Camp Half-Blood where I met my best friend, Bella Ferguson. I found out I was a half-blood, so I lived there for 2 two years. So, you're lucky you don't know your parents." I looked at Kayla, and noticed a scar on her arm, that she quickly hid. I felt terrible for Kayla, all that she'd been through. She never showed it at Camp. Whenever I saw her she laughed with her friends, or was acting stubborn against a boy who wanted to go out with her. But I'd never imagined that she'd been through all that. "I'm so so sorry," I told her. Kayla moved the stray hair behind her ear, as she did often. "Its fine. At least I'm not with them anymore." Kayla stared at the ground, but I kept glancing at her. She was beautiful in every aspect, but that's not why I kept looking at her. She was so kind to everyone, and was honest, and always was nice, even though she had a difficult past. Slowly I found myself touching the edge of Kayla's hand. She glanced at me for a second then looked away. But she too, slowly slid her hand in mine. It felt awesome and the best I'd ever felt, but I also thought I was gonna throw up. I turned towards Kayla, and she turned toward me. She stared into my eyes, and my heart started pounding. Like drums. I mean like my heart was going "BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM" over and over. I leaned closer, and heart pounding, I kissed Kayla's tender, warm lips, and she kissed back. End of Chapter 5 (Best chapter ever) Idk if my fanfic is even good anymore it kinda sucks :l
