One of the main differences between Humans and Elves is how they record their history. Humans like factual texts that tell it how it is with all the gory and humiliating details. Elves prefer a more poetic approach, with long flowery legends and songs detailing greatly exaggerated stories. For instance, when comparing the transcripts of the Battle of Dark Elm; the Elvin epics go on quite a bit about how the Elves superior intelligence and cunning strategy won the day against the simple and brutish Orcs. The Human text books plainly state that the Elves had nearly twice as many casualties and many times the wounded that the Orcs sustained. And that the Elf Strategy was the only reason they won at all against the stronger and larger army that was the Orcs. Having fought Orcs before, Ghost appreciated the Humans view of things a bit better. Which did not help him when he found himself thrown off a cliff. He probably should have listened to his gut and just run away to find reinforcements. But while that might have still stopped the rogue gang of Orcs that had been terrorizing the nearby towns. It wouldn’t have been in time to save their latest target. A small fishing town with no one to protect it. Well… except for Ghost. And he had done a great job of it too! Before he was thrown off the cliff he had managed to kill three and wound the other two Orcs. They would have to retreat back through the portal that they had come through. Where they would be quickly caught by the authorities they had come here to avoid. Really, it was a completely successful mission for Ghost. Except for the getting off the cliff part. That part just sucked. And hurt. A lot. He was pretty sure he had broken both legs, multiple ribs, and possibly his wrist as well. Though hopefully his wrist was just sprained. It… was not the best day to be Ghost.
Start of a story I'm writing @i_fell_off_a_cliffs This is for you, maybe you can get some pointers from Ghost.
