hi. i'm corey and i'm here to talk about transmisogyny. transmisogyny is misogyny towards transfem people and it is QUITE common in the studio. our transmasc population is very high [ not a bad thing btw!! ] which means its more common to see transmasc people talk about THEIR dysphoria. but when transfems talk about bottom dysphoria people are like “ew!” or “thats inappropriate.” transfems experience dysphoria in different ways but that gives us no right to put them under fire for that. i cant personally relate; my dysphoria is more widely accepted in the studio, but i’m still going to stand up for transfems. as a trans community we should recognize that everybody has dysphoria, they just have it in different ways. which brings me to my next topic: the infantilization of transfems. [ this is also an issue with transmasc/transneu people ] my closest friend on scratch is a transfem who yes, acts a little childish, but that doesn’t mean every other transfem here does. infantilization of transfems comes from misogynistic roots towards cis women; people think that because they are treated as children that transfems should be as well. this isn’t as widely known as an issue in the studio, but i see it sometimes. how can we expect transfems to be a part of our community if we keep pushing them away with rude things?
it would be nice to have transfems opinions, but others are welcome as well!!
