Keep in mind that the novel in verse doesn't have a story behind it, this is just the story that played in my head while I reread the poem (after I finished writing it) ○ I imagined a young teenage girl who was betrayed and left behind by her "friends". She was later taken to a facility to be a test subject. The novel in verse was a diary entry, which were her last words, written on the wall of her cell, regarding the betrayal and how she was physically feeling then.
