Cold surrounded the camp, darkness was the blanket of protection for a young elder escaping camp. She needed to get out of the stuffy den that smelled of mouse-bile and sickness. Her ginger pelt was well hidden in the backdrop of leaf-fall. She ran and ran until she got somewhere she hadn't been to in a long time, Memories of kit-hood flooded her mind. When she had escaped camp with another kit- who was it again? She shook her head she didn't want to dwindle on that. She took in the sights and smells of the forest, it was likely this was the last time she would get to see it. She fondly looked at the endless amount of trees, the same ones she trained in, the same ones she fought in, the same trees she lived her life in. To imagine that she might not see them again hurt her soul, but she learned to accept this. Now that she was out here, she was able to say goodbye to her old life. She was no longer a warrior, but an elder, someone who sits on the sidelines . . and she was okay with that. Softheart lay down in a pile of leaves, well the sun slowly crept over the horizon, chasing the moon out of the sky. She closed her eyes, burrowing deeper in the leaves. As she lie in the leaves all the warrior youth she thought she still had was sucked out of her, leaving her with a shell of her old self. She knew this wasn't just a goodbye to the forest anymore, this was A Final Goodbye. She opened her eyes as the dawn sky showered her in light. Images of her family and friends flashed in her mind. Her sister Sparrowflight, her kits Silvertuft, Rufflerush, Gingerpelt, and Fluffyasphodel, her friend Swallowfog. It all came and went as she finally closed her eyes for possibly the last time. Soft sobs echoed in the morning forest, tears fell out of her eyes. Her final words were full of love and care as she said "I'm sorry for all the times I wasn't there for you, like i'm not going to be now. But you all are strong, so I wish you all well in life. Well I leave in- " before she could finish she fell into an inky black sleep, as she made her way into the stars. [ end ] Authors note: I almost cried well making that- So if you actually read the sloppy piece of writing that is I thank you! As the title states this is a tribute to my Roleplay character, now she has been de@d for a decent amount of time but I haven't been able to let go of her. So I decided I would make a proper de roleplay for her! She was my first roleplay character and kinda opened a new chapter of my life so I felt almost obliged too. Anyway goodbye Softheart! I will never forget you! - 19
