The Kalashnikov A-K-47 was first developed in 1944, finished 1947 and was first used in the Soviet army in 1949. The gun has seen massive success over the years and is still even used today, which is quite a rare feat. Variations of the gun have been made to improve some of the features of it - such as the AK-74 and AK-46 - it has been the main gun of many militias and militaries.
