I recommend following the quests E to interact WASD to move around
When you make a new tool, it will replace the old one. Get cotton seeds from grass and cotton plants. Plant cotton using the build menu. Btw I had a huge magical change log that had so much stuff in it and then scratch glitches and wipes all of the text in all my projects :))
