This is Winter Elms and her horse Mecha, AKA Dual Mechanics! [ press space ] 1. We go out into the pasture to catch Mecha. He's young and still a bit green, so he can only be worked with by me and Winter at the moment. His biggest struggle right now is being caught when turned out because he's super playful and thinks it's a game. But he's also super loving and came running over as soon as he saw us. 2. But, as soon as Winter haltered him, he took off, chain flying. We ran after him and eventually caught him. We took him inside, groomed him, tacked up (with stella510's hot pink tack), and Winter mounted. We always start him in an arena or round pen so he calms down before leaving the property. So today we put them in the round pen to warm up and join up a couple times before taking them back out. 3. The fastest way to the Morning Glory Stables property was through the Northwest Fields, where we had just caught Mecha from, so we went riding back through there. Mecha instantly picked up a gallop! Our dog Everest decided to come too, he'd run ahead then wait for us to catch up. This is our first time taking him out because of the recent horsenappings, we haven't felt safe with him outside of the property. He's a gorgeous Husky / German Shepard (by nova-the-wolfie) with heterochromia that any thief would gladly take! Scene from Winter's perspective :: As we walk through the forest, I llok around and breathe in all the different scents. I feel Mecha moving under me, his steady, quick gait that I've grown used to. I peer at the trees in front of me between Mecha's perfect brown tipped ears, adorned by a hot pink bridle that matches the saddle under me. I smile.
