Most of the Wily Stage themes of the Mega Man franchise are considered masterpieces by fans, and this is a worthy example. In Mega Man, (1987, Capcom) this piece was composed for the first two Wily Stages by Manami Matsumae, who also composed the rest of the music in this game, plus Nitro Man's theme in Mega Man 10 (2010). Sadly, this catchy and motivating theme has been widely overshadowed by the Wily Stages 1 & 2 theme for Mega Man 2 (1988), which was composed by Takashi Tateishi. All Wily themes are good ones indeed, but this particular tune has the highest potential for respect from life-long fans.
