- Festive Updates 04. - A Week IN The Life Of Alfie - - Monday - Yep I have a 5 am start most morinings, its not always easy but always worth it, ofc its still dark being December. I eventually force myself up and sit for a minute to wake up fully, I quickly get dressed and do my hair. After a quick bite to eat, I head out the door and walk to the yard because its only like a 2 minute walk.. Unlock the gates and make feeds. When all horses, foals and ponies have been fed, its time to get in the first horse of the day for training, today it happened to be Chester (my latest project) I led him in and took off his rug, gave him a nice groom and took him out for some groundwork, he has done all the groundwork he really needs to but as he's new to me I'm just going over everything before we start backing etc. I didn't show too much today as I've lots planed for future updates! Ride Number 2! Okay so, once Chester was untacked grooomed etc. it was Cashe's turn so I grabbed him in gave him a nice groom and tack up. We headed out on a hack through the woods and found an old XC fence I fogot was even there!! We popped over nicelt it was super good to feel him go so well especially as he hasn't odne much in a few monthhs. Next was Ruby, I haven't done much with her yet so I just gave her a quick school over some raised poles wich she did really well but she may need a martingale next time.. We went for a nice long hack and when we got back it was time to make lunches! I filled nearly 100 haynets in 45 mins :00 once all the ponies were fed I needed some lunch myself so I sat in the corner of the arena while Kalum one of my helpers jumped George who went so nicely :0. I then took Beach out in his new saddle and bridle.. eee I'm so excited to get going w/ him he's so cool.. I had my first ever 'sit' on Beach.. I've waited so long for this :000 I sat on him for like 30 secs and got off again.. Then it was time to head home and get ready to head out w/ some friends, I wasn't back in time for night checks so onto Tuesday! -Tuesday- Up at 5:00 am dressed hair etc. Walk to the yard and make up all the feeds! Ok, onto the good stuff! I got Magic into the washbay and groomed, tacked her up then mounted and hacked to my instructor Tim's yard. We had a super early lesson today and we got their on time! I finished warming up and we soon started jumping, we warmed up over a canter pole then upping it to a crosspole and eventually an upright! We're trying to step Magic up a level in height in Show Jumping at the moment, she's currently jumping up to a metre comfortably and we're trying to get her to 1.10m in the next few weeks! So we built a grid, the first jump was an eighty or ninety the second a metre and the last 1.05 We then hacked home and I gave Magic a good wash off. Then it was Ocean's turn so I gave him a trott round the dressage arena for a bit then I wanted to show him round the property but he's still quite neverous so I got my amazing friend Becky to lead him round the XC course! Next is Honey's turn, she's not rlly done much XC at all so I wamred her up all around the course and popped a SJ cross pole to start with then an upright and she felt soooo good and confident so we popped some othe fences wich was great! I then tacked up Hercules and did some dressage as I'm hoping to take him to a show very soon! Its then lunch time so I filled round abt a hundred haynets >:) I grabbed Honeydew and gave her a much deserved pamper! Next up it was Frosty's turn for some training and she's coming along rlly nicely, we'll teach her to lunge next and then back her! Chester was fitted with his very first saddle today! We (yes it took two of us) led him around the arena for a few minutes as to not over do it! I up on Beach again today, for a walk and *TINY* trot around, I cab't wait to start riidng him properly he'll be big for the future ik that for sure!!!!! It was then to time to start getting in all the horses from the field, Gala came first, then Ginger, then Milkshake decided he could lead himself in XD typical stallion.. ******* 5 0 H O R S E S L A T E R ****** Its now dinner time for the ponies so I start making feeds which is a full team effort to feed so many horses :000 Then we start skipping the horses out to make morning stable easier! Ivory was very confused idk why we do this every day XD I then felt I had enough energy to ride one more horse and Raven happens to be stabled near the feed room so that's who I chose! I tacked her up and headed to the dressage arena for a lovely night ride, we only did 20 mins as we had a busy day tomorrow! - I was exauhsted when I finally got home, managed to have a lil shnacky and then jumped into bed -Wednesday- 5 am start! Up, dressed hair, breakfast etc. walk to the yard, and start prepping horses for the show we're off to yes today is a show day, I took 2 horses, George and Cookie, so groomed both of them loaded and packed everything +
