Hello, I’m mostly known as Misery but I also go by Lenore and Argo. I use he/it/star pronouns. I’m Aromantic, Sapphic, and my gender is just unlabeled. I applied last year, but I think I’ve improved and changed since then so I’m trying again. I’ve been in the gaehive since late 2020/early 2021 on my old account [ @LunarLavender ] but I mostly comment stalked until the latter time. My time zone is est and I’m normally active from 10 am to 11pm on weekdays, and 6pm to 11pm on weekends. Things that would make me a good manager !! I can help resolve conflicts I stay calm during things like discourse and trolls I’m online often so I could invite people faster so they wouldn’t feel ignored. I’m very familiar with the studios rules and members. I’m accepting of new ideas Downsides of me being a manager: I can be biased about things that I’ve had experiences with I can be quite forgetful when I’m told to do things, which would be an issue for host shifts I’m rarely active in the summer [late May to late august] Unique things I could bring to the position: I could help hold studio wide activities since I’m very active I think I could bring a different perspective to some situations or discussions that involve gender, neurodivergence, and poc [specifically African Americans since I can’t talk about things I haven’t experienced ofc] Stance on current issues: I get why hostility towards new members is common, mostly because of the trolls and sock puppets causing people to be uneasy around new people. But it doesn’t excuse accusing them as soon as join or reporting their genuine comments or being mean about it [ex. Someone saying they don’t understand insert gender/sexuality and it being taken as homophobia when the person hadn’t said anything wrong since they could’ve wanted an explanation or others general opinion on it. I think that if someone truly is suspicious and has a reason they should ask the person themselves, and as for the comment thing it makes the most sense to ask if they want to understand it, provide help if you can, or even just say “I can’t explain it fully, but googling or reading this could help”. Trigger Warnings: I can understand why someone could forget caps tw’s at first because it’s not a common thing to warning in most other internet places. I don’t know if reporting those comments that refuse to use caps warnings is the right way to go, but sometimes it’s the best option. With more obvious trigger warnings [death, body horror, violence etc] those should almost always be reported if there’s no warning, or even if there is one but it breaks guidelines. [This one wasn’t on the list but I still think it’s an issue] Discourse that could’ve fit in one thread involving the whole studio: This has happened recently with small things that weren’t meant negatively, one being started by someone using /evil as a tone tag and creating unnecessary discourse when it was not an issue in the first place. I think this could be solved by encouraging people to keep any issues they have with another member into one thread or just talk to that user about it on there profile instead of vague posting or trying to start a witch hunt. What I would improve + things I would do: I’d do my best to encourage kindness towards new members I would do my best to resolve conflicts and prevent discourse I would make sure to read member suggestions, and implement them if they’re agreed upon I would try to use a lot of member thumbnails, a lot of people make them so it’d be fun to use I would like to hold studio wide things that art contests or things like that
Who I’d recommend: @cerroverb -Really cool [applies to each rec !!] -Has great opinions -transfem rep -mature about discourse @wormbutch - Mature about discourse - Very kind - Good with conflict @oxiiclean - Good with conflict - Calm - Overall good manager applications @PrincessMeta - Mature - good with conflict - understands the studio very well [I also blanked with reasons, they just seem like they’d do well and have good traits !!] Feel free to critique or ask any questions !
