"FIRST YEARS OVER HERE!" called a voice as we got off the train. I looked over and saw a man about 29 years old. He had brown hair and grey eyes. I began to make my way toward him, Shel and Emersyn trailed behind me. We all clambered into boats. Shel and Emersyn and a boy named Dale Abbott all got into the the same boat as me. "Hey," said Dale shyly. "Hey," I said back. He then proceeded to explain about his parents, Hannah Abbott and Justin Finch-Fletchley. I daydreamed until the boats carried us through a curtain of ivy which hid a wide opening in the cliff face. We were carried along a dark tunnel, which took us under the castle. We reached a underground harbour, where we clambered out onto the rocks and pebbles. We climbed up a stone passageway that was in the rock, and came out onto damp grass. I looked up and saw Hogwarts. I'd seen it out on the lake, but that was nothing compared to what it looked like up close. I was practically bursting with excitement. I couldn't wait to see the moving staircases and the common room, whichever house I was in. The man with brown hair knocked on the large doors and they swung open. A short thin woman with long green hair and blue eyes. "Follow me." she said in a surprisingly big voice for such a little lady. She led us toward a small chamber and explained to us about our school houses. I tuned it out though. I had read about it in different books. Instead I wondered what house I would be in. Maybe Ravenclaw or Hufflepuff. I didn't think I'd be in Gryffindor, but maybe, like dad, and Harry Potter. I wondered whether his kids would be here. The lady finished her little speech and we walked into the Great Hall. I was practically bouncing with excitement. The lady placed the famous sorting hat on a stool. The sorting hat sung a song that I was too excited to listen to, and then the lady began calling names. "Dale Abbott." Dale timidly walked up to the sorting hat. It thought for a moment before exclaiming "Hufflepuff!" There was a loud cheer from the Hufflepuff table as Dale walked over and sat down. A couple more names were called that I ignored until the lady called, "Emersyn Chang" Emersyn walked up to the sorting hat and sat on the stool. Almost as soon as the hat touched her head, the hat yelled out "Ravenclaw!" There was a loud cheer from the Ravenclaw table as Emersyn went over to join them. Shel was next. She was also sorted into Ravenclaw. A few more names, including Colin Creevy, who was Gryffindor; Emily Edgecombe, who was sorted into Slytherin; and Fred Johnson, who was sorted into Gryffindor. Then it was my turn. "Lucy Lovegood," the lady called. I walked up to the stool and sat down nervously. I heard a whispering in my ear. "Hmmm... Hard one... Hmmm... I reckon... Ravenclaw!" I grinned, took off the hat and ran over to sit next to Shel at the Ravenclaw table. Then the lady called "Lilly Potter." It seemed the Great Hall collectively held it's breath. "GRYFFINDOR!" the hat roared, and the Gryffindor table applauded. I saw Albus sitting over at the Slytherin table scowling. I wondered why. I looked to the teachers table and saw dad waving at me. I grinned and waved before turning back to the sorting. Finally, the last person was called, "Gabrielle Weasley," She looked a lot like Fleur. I went over to her house often, as mum was extremally grateful for when she was 16 or 17, and Bill and Fleur helped her after being at Malfoy Manor. "Ravenclaw!" Hollered the sorting hat, as Gabrielle ran over to sit next to me. "Hey Lucy!" she said breathlessly, leaning over to hug me. Just then, Professor McGonigal stood up, about to give the back to school feast. "Welcome first years, and welcome back everyone else! I am informed by our caretaker Eloise Midgen, that along with Skiving Snackboxes, Auto-Answer Quills and Screaming Yo-yos, Love Potions and Fanged Frisbees are also banned. Now, because I'm not a fan of speeches in my old age, check the noticeboards in your common rooms tomorrows morning. Now, enjoy the feast." Immediately, platters of all different sorts of food appeared; All sorts of meat and salads appeared, and we began to dig in. A long while later; once dessert was done, the Ravenclaw prefect led us to the common room. I was so excited and eager to learn how to get in. I heard the door say: "Alex is the brother of Bob. Bob is the brother of Calen. Calen is the father of Dylan. How is Dylan related to Alex?" The prefect pondered this for a few seconds before answering "Alex is Dylan's Uncle or Aunty." The door swung open. I gasped in shock. My mum had explained the beauty of it, but it was so much more beautiful in person. It was wide and circular, with arched windows all along the walls, with blue and bronze silks. There were stars painted all over the ceiling and where echoed in the midnight-blue carpet. There were tables, chairs, and bookcases, and in a tall statue made of white marble.
