Welcome to Rambling about Rainworld because I have no one to discuss the game with because I don't want to be annoying. So i'm just going to publicly ramble about it. There might be a lot of parts to this..later on... Oh well. _____ Yall don't have to read this, i'm doing this not because i'm bored, but because I simply can't find people who actually play Rainworld. Oh also, Audio is Devil Town by Cavetown. I gotta put this here to credit them before I forget XD _____ *Sobs in being too scared to ask people irl anyways* _____ SO. RAINWORLD. I'm pretty sure y'all have heard or seen me mention it. And if not, well, now you have because, well yeah. So basically, Rainworld is a survival platform developed by Videocult and published by both Adult Swim Games and Akupara Games for the gameplay on Playstation4, Microsoft Windows in March 2017. It was then released for gameplay on the Nintendo Switch a year later. The game follows an interesting little creature, who is deemed the role of the player. The creatures are shown in the picture of this project. The player or creature is known as a Slugcat or 'Scrugcat' and is tasked to survive in the harsh conditions of their ecosystem at the bottom of the food chain. The game has a variety of 'habitats' or sectors and has a simulated ecosystem. At the start of the game, you get the options of three Slugcats. After it starts you automatically, that is. There is The Monk, The Survivor, and The Hunter. I am not listing the extra Slugcats you unlock after getting the Downpour Pack/Expansion. These three main Slugcats are like the easy, Normal, and Hard modes. With The Hunter being the hardest mode so far. When the game starts, it gives you little to no information on how to survive. Leaving you to fend for yourself and learn to adapt to your new surroundings. Unfortunately, not long after its release critics seemed to be giving mixed reviews for the game. Most of them being dumb and stupid like, praising the AMAZING AND ABSOLUTELY STUNNING ART THAT NO ONE CAN CHANGE MY ALREADY IN STONE BELIEF THAT RAINWORLD HAS THE MOST SPECTACULAR ART IN ALMOST ALL GAMING HISTORY. {In my opinion.} but the reviews also criticized it for its meaning. Being a brutally hard survival game. THAT WAS THE POINT OF THE GAME- Anyways, what I love almost as much about the art, is the story and the lore for both the individual Slugcats and the world itself. I'm only recapping how it starts, I am not spoiling most of their stories, NOR am I going to discuss the lore. BUT I will praise them for awesome story writing. The Monk and the The Survivor are siblings, with the Monk being a younger sibling. When caught during a Downpour, which happens at the end of a cycle, Survivor is basically flushed into a pipe, and Monk quickly follows in an attempt to save their sibling. It doesn't matter who you choose to play as, they both start alone and lost. The ending for this one was...uhm. INTeReStInG- But anyways, i'm not going to explain the rest because I don't want to be that person to spoil it. Now, The Hunter starts off with A VERY ANNOYING CYCLE COUNT- Starting from nineteen, it continuously counts down until zero. Once zero hits, Hunter perishes and you ARE FORCED TO START THE WHOLE DAMN GAME ALL OVER AGAIN- I love that character so much. It's hard yet worth it. What's nice though is that if you find Five Pebbles, you get five more cycles added to the cycle count so you can continue on. "Who's Five Pebbles?" the voice besides me asks. Well, Five Pebbles is one of the TWO iterators you can meet with the main three. He's at the heart of the Five Pebbles Supercomputer. He was created by the ancients and was tasked with solving super complicated things like The Great Problem, Void Fluid, making the ancients have a smoother and easier life, and what five plus five equals. See, COMPLICATED STUFF. The second iterator is Looks To The Moon, but imma call her Moon. She's also called 'Big Sis Moon' by many. She can be found at the Shoreline. The Yellow overseer originally can take you to Moon's facility. Oh, you don't know what the Overseer is? The shadow behind me doesn't know this so imma explain it. The Yellow Overseer belongs to Moon and is used as a guide and tutorial for Slugcat at the start. The community {And me} prefers to call them 'Iggy'. There is also a Blue Overseer, who I and the community know as 'Rivulet'. They lead you to shelters and alert you of enemies, very similar to Iggy. Now for me to praise the art. It's beautiful, it can be colorful, it can be vibrant, it can be saturated, it can be natural. I just love it, okay. I JUST LOVE IT TO AN OBSESSIVE TYPE OF RANK, LEAVE ME ALONE >:( I'm going to post another one of these soon, there I will be rambling on about the Ecosystem, Regions, The Downpour at the end of a Cycle, and the Downpour slugcats. Oh my god the Artificer is so cool. AND Spearmaster. OH AND SAINT- Okay yeah, i'm running out of space and my hands hurt. BYEEEEE-
