[ a summary and irp changes can be found at the bottom ~ ] ... tarragonflair, dayspringpaw, gloamingcrest. three names so familiar, yet so suddenly no longer existing in the present. when the news reached her that tarragonflair had drowned, she'd received it with a solemn and wordless nod. plenty comforts came at first, but when it became evident her stoic demeanor had not been shaken they quickly became scarce. when she learned dayspringpaw had fallen victim to an alligator in the rivers, she'd firmly pressed her dry mouth into a tight line and quietly thanked the messenger. her stony expression had not faltered once. but oh, when gloamingcrest died .. his body, already dead, found on shadowclan's frost-covered territory. umbrasymphony had stood over his cool, lifeless figure -- saw what was left of his final moments. her dearest sibling. the only true family connection she'd ever felt, severed by death's silver blade. when it cut the string of gloamingcrest's life, something in umbrasymphony snapped along with it. his breaths came in shallowly during gloamingcrest's burial. his vision blurred at the edges, voices reverberated loudly off every surface, and time was reduced to a warped amalgamation. umbrasymphony didn't remember when he left camp. soon after the burial, he thought, but it was hard to recall. his lean paws stumbled feebly through the pines, forest whirling around him. eventually, he found himself upon a tree. sunset .. it was sunset. the sun fell, and the moon rose, and it rose, and it rose. the moon rose, a full moon tonight, but despite the time that had passed umbrasymphony had not shed one tear. she wanted to. starclan, she wanted to cry more than anything. cry for tarragonflair, cry for dayspringpaw -- cry for gloamingcrest. she couldn't. so umbrasymphony screamed. a piercing scream after hours of silence. the only sound the young warrior made that night. she screamed to the moon, all the emotion she couldn't express otherwise spilling out with it. sorrow, bitterness, hatred, wrath, desperation, loneliness. up into the ebony night sky, they traveled, to be heard by no one but the moon and stars. .. how long had her scream lasted? minutes, seconds? had it even really happened, or was she really just losing it? nobody else was around to know. ... [ family all died in one go arc .. the upcoming angst came a lil early !!! ] [ bree deals with death in a way she doesn't really understand herself. she copes by telling herself it's a natural process and that all are taken when it's their due time, and although she likes to believe that those ideas help her not get sad over death ,, it's obv not entirely true ] [ she'll be a lot more isolated n demotivated for the next few moons !! her personal training will suddenly be of much less importance , and a large chunk of her first few days'll be spent js lying in her nest ]
