“Bye buddy,” I call out to Alex, my twelve-year-old brother as me and my mum drop him off for school. My mum was going to drop me off for school next. When we pull up to my school, I see River and Em walk through the doors of the school, but they were with another girl who I didn’t know. She looks very similar-almost identical to River, so I assume it’s their sister. “River! Em!” I shout out the window of the vehicle we were driving. The three of them turn around, and wave as I exit the car and begin running towards them. “Hey guys!” I say when I reach them, I’m panting as I’m not used to running so quickly. “Hi Lana!” River exclaim. “This is our other sister, her name is Elliot, but she’s on the basketball team,” River explains shortly after. “So when we walk in through the door, there's a cork board with all the posters, so that’s where we can see if we made the team,” Em tells me. We walk through the interior doors, and inside stands a crowd of people surrounding the board. “God, what’s all the fuss here?” I mutter under my breath. “Why are there so many people! There weren’t even this many at tryouts or whatever!” River shouts softly, as she throws her hands up in the air. A few minutes later, River must have found a friend or something, because she left me and Em for a few minutes, then came back and told me, “Up there by the bulletin board is Jacob Madison. He’s the most popular kid on the football team, and all the girls want him. He and I are neighbors.” “Alright guys,” we heard someone chuckle, “I’ve got to get to class.” As he finishes, River points out Jacob as he walks through all the girls. As predicted, all the girls follow him, so he starts running down the halls. Lucky for us though, but we can walk right up to the board, and see the cheer roster. I scroll through the paper until I saw my name, River’s name, and Em’s name. “Oh my gosh guys! We made it!” I tell them. We all have a mini-celebration in the hallway, but shortly after, we realized that it’s almost time for class, so we rush to our lockers.
