ᨒ my thoughts on follow for follow ᨒ *deep breath* → Don't get me wrong, scratch is an amazing platform with tons of amazing people and I love making, testing and sharing projects just as much as everyone else does. But something that really gets on my nerves is when I'm scrolling through my messages and I see this simple yet infuriating little word- "f4f". In case you didn't know already, f4f means 'follow for follow' and it implies that someone is offering to follow you if you follow them back. Let me explain why I despise this so much. First of all, if I gave you a follow right now, it would be because I actually liked your content or thought you made scratch a better place. Go look at all of the scratchers I'm following on my main (@Pandagir1) and you can see for yourself. Every single one of them makes quality content. I would never go around following random people for no reason whatsoever. Follow for follow means giving someone a free follow just so you can gain another. It's very self-focused and greedy. If you want more followers, EARN them. Don't expect people to follow you for just slacking around and putting 0 effort into your projects. It makes me feel disappointed in the scratch community to see so many people caring about popularity more than what this platform is really about. f4f is a really messed up way of getting popular and even though you might not realize it, people who participate in f4f have FAKE followers. I hope you agree because I think f4f makes scratch a dishonest community. Think about it; people say they have 500 followers or whatever, but when you look closely you see that 70% of their so-called "followers" just got free follows back. your local perfectionist, @Pandagir1
