Here’s my entry! Hope u like it, I had fun making it! Bio and short story/backstory below: Name: Cinder Gender: Male Age: 18 (human years) Family: dad: unknown, mom: Ash. Older brother: ember (21 in human years) Personality: Usually more inward, even shy. Likes to shut himself off from the world and struggles to deal with anxiety, mostly because of what he can become when a strong emotion is unlocked. Backstory: Cinder grew up with his mother and older brother. They lived in a small village with other dragons, but somewhat shut off from the main communities and cities of the world. Ever since Cinder could remember, he had been the shyer, more vulnerable one of the two brothers. Ember always protected him, and helped him. Even as… Cinder’s, ‘bad side’, as his family called it, started showing itself. Cinder knew something was different about him. He was bullied and shunned by the other dragons. But as he grew older, a darkness was kindled by the hate and rude comments. he did his best to hold it in, but as he got older it became harder and harder; sometimes he could no longer find that quiet happy place inside of him, a rope of strength to pull him through the hard times. When he felt a strong emotion deeply, such as anger or sadness, he felt himself tuck away, and let the darkness sleep out. He could barely remember what happened, but he knew that what he did while the darkness was in control, was bad. He hurt others, not only with words, but with his physical talons and Fire breath. When the emotion surge passed, he would slowly rise out of the dark, to see the destruction he had caused, and he was scared. Scared that he would do it again, scared he would hurt someone he loved. His family tried to protect him, to keep him safe and pull him through the darkness, but it didn’t work. Cinder couldn’t hold it in, it kept happening; he hurt his friends (if that’s what u called them), he destroyed places he loved (if love is the right word), so one day, at the age of 16, he ran. As fast and as far as he could. Tears leaking down his cheeks and glinting in the fiery light of the sunset. Grief now making the darkness expand. He roared, letting the darkness out. It helped a bit, now that he was alone where he couldn’t hurt anyone. But he missed his family, Ash, and his mother. He missed them oh so much it made his heart ache. So Cinder lived alone, trying to control his darkness, let the light in. And sometimes he could, he found quiet happiness with small things in nature, and the world. And the darkness that festered inside would retreat, scared by the fire of light.
