When she gets to the big oak tree, Katie is already there waiting for her. “Hey!” She says “Hey.” Jessica replies, no hint of emotion in her voice. “Are you okay?” Katie asks. “Yeah, I’m fine. On the way here though, every time I looked into the shop windows, I saw the girl's reflection, like she was walking right beside me. Then when I turned a corner I tripped on something and skinned my knees, so I got band aids from the shopkeeper, but when I came back out and tried to find what I tripped on there was nothing there except a black knife. Jessica pulls the knife out of her purse to show Katie. Katie looks at it closely, “What's that stuff on the knife?” But before Jessica can say what she thinks it is Katie gasps, “Is that blood!” “I think it might be, but look at the engraving on the handle, it says 1650. That means this knife is very old, so how did it get blood on it?” Katie shakes her head slightly “I don't know, and I really don't want to find out. I’m going to text Brandon and Spencer to come to the park so we can tell them everything, okay?” “Alright, but remember you can't text on the group chat anymore, so you’ll have to text one of them to pick up the other and come over here.” Katie nods her head already texting one of the guys to come over. “Okay they’ll be here in fifteen minutes.” Katie says looking up at Jessica. Jessica nods her head and stares at the big oak tree, lost in her thoughts. Brandon Oct 22 Sun 2:41 Brandon’s house Brandon had just got a text from Spencer Spencer:Hey I’m gonna come by and pick u up the girls want us to meet them at the park Brandon: Ight I’ll be ready in 10 Spencer: K Brandon goes to take a shower and when he gets out he wipes the mirror clean of the fog and sees the girl. Taken aback he stumbles backwards with his jaw dropped. “I thought they were all just playing a stupid prank on me or something, but there she is the girl they were all talking about.” He thought to himself. The girl with her kind of sad eerie smile writes in the mirror “Help me” “H-help y-y-you?” Brandon stutters. The girl just nods her head slowly. “Like f-free your soul or s-s-something?” Brandon asks. She just nods her head more. “H-how?” He stutters again. She writes in the mirror again, “A game.” “What do you mean a game?” Brandon asks but before she says anything she disappears. He finishes getting ready just as Spencer pulls in and meets him at the car. “Hey man.” Spencer says as he gets in. “Hey..” “What’s up?” Spencer asks Brandon. “I’ll tell you when we’re with the girls.” Brandon replies with a still stunned look on his face. “Um..ok.” Spencer says reversing out of the driveway and onto the road. Brandon knows not to talk to Spencer while he’s driving so that he can focus on the road. So instead Brandon pulls out his phone and scrolls through YouTube until they reach the park.He and Spencer walk over to the big oak tree where Jessica and Katie were waiting for them. Once He and Spencer got to the oak tree he hugged Katie but he noticed that Jessica looked flushed. “Are you ok Jess?” Jessica just stands there seemingly unaware of what Brandon just said. “Are you ok Jess?” Brandon repeats a little louder this time “Huh?” Jessica asks, coming out of her daze. Brandon chuckles, “I was just asking if you were good.” He says. Jessica nods her head slightly and goes back to her thoughts. Brandon walks over to some picnic tables. “Hey let’s sit over here.” He says pointing to some picnic tables not too far away. So Spencer and the rest of them head over there, Katie sat next to Spencer like usual while Jessica and Brandon sat across from them. “Ok so I have something I want to tell all of you guys before we get to the real reason we’re all here whatever that is.” Brandon says “Oh ok.” Katie says. Jessica was still lost in her thoughts though, and didn’t hear him. “Ok so when I got out of the shower I saw that girl the one you guys described, she was smiling, a sad eerie kind of smile and she wrote on the mirror “Help me”, With this Jessica shot straight up “What!” She exclaimed. “Um yeah.” Brandon says with a curious, questioning look on his face. “That’s why I wanted you guys to come here, she said the same thing to me.” Jessica says. “For real?!” Brandon says. “Yeah. What did you say after that?” Jessica asks. “I asked if she wanted us to help her, like free her soul or something and she just nodded her head, so I asked her how and she wrote in the mirror again “A game.”She wants me to play some sort of game.” Brandon says. Jessica’s eyes are wide and her mouth is hanging open like a door loose on its hinges. “What, what’s wrong?” Brandon asks her. “Nothing, it’s just that she said the same thing to me at church today and when I asked her what kind of game she disappeared without a response.” Jessica replies “Yeah same!” Brandon practically yells. “Keep your voice down.” Katie hisses at Brandon.
“Sorry, sorry, but yeah she disappeared as soon as I said “what do you mean a game?” “Mhm.” Jessica says nodding her head distractedly clearly in her thoughts again. “What about you guys, did you guys see anything like that?” Brandon asks, turning towards Spencer and Katie who have been quite almost this whole time. Katie shakes her head no at the same time Spencer says “No I haven’t looked in a mirror all day, too creepy.” “Yeah same.” Katie replies. “Well if she won’t tell us what kind of game we’re playing, how will we know how to free her spirit or whatever?” Spencer asks. Brandon seemed to be thinking about that and Jessica was still too lost in her own thoughts to even realize her friends were talking at all. Jessica gets a text from her dad and pulls out her phone. Jessica’s dad: Hey where are you? Jessica: I’m at the park with Spencer, Brandon, and katie Jessica’s dad: Well could you come home it’s almost 4:30 Jessica: Ok give me 20 min to wrap up our conversation then I’ll be headed home Jessica’s dad: Alright “Hey guys, I gotta go. My dad wants me home.” “Alright. Yeah I should get going too.” Brandon says getting to his feet.
