Toxic Standards: In a world that's blinded by perfection, Where beauty is confined, bound by rigid rules, We find ourselves trapped, suffocating, Striving to fit into society's narrow view. They tell us beauty lies in flawless skin, But what about the scars that tell our stories? The lines etched upon our faces, Each little wrinkle, a testament to a life well-lived. They tell us beauty demands a certain size, But bodies should not be defined by numbers, For curves and folds hold tales of resilience, Of strength and love that cannot be measured. They paint a canvas of perfection, With colors unattainable by most, Creating a maze of unending comparison, Where even the boldest become lost. Beauty becomes a distant mirage, A mirage that forever eludes, As we chase after their illusions, Our own essence gets misconstrued. But let us break free from these chains, From the shackles of societal norms, For beauty is not a fixed concept. But a kaleidoscope of diverse forms. As beauty lies in the laughter lines, In the eyes that hold stories untold, In the strength that carries us forward, In quirks that make us bold. Beauty thrives in kindness, In compassion that knows no bounds, In the warmth of a gentle touch, In the love that forever surrounds. Let us redefine society's thought of beauty, And embrace the beauty that resides within, For it is in our uniqueness and imperfections, So let us break these toxic chains. For we are all magnificent, In our beautifully flawed ways, And it's time to redefine What beauty truly portrays.
