⭒ since our ranks are very confusing ⭒ . . . LEADER ~ just as you would expect, a leader is in charge. she leads the clan with grace and expertise, and must be the most skillful cat in the clan. the leader is always chosen by the former leader so she is ready to take his place when needed. DEPUTY ~ in a place as chaotic as this battle-plagued valley, you need three deputies. deputies are expected to advise the leader and help her out. STARSEARCHER ~ a starsearcher, despite the implication within the name, searches not the stars but rather searches when the stars are visible. starsearchers are expected to hunt and patrol at night and sleep a lot during the day. SKYSEARCHER ~ like a starsearcher, skysearchers search at an appointed time. rather than working during the night, they hunt and patrol in the day. HUNTER ~ a hunter, as the name implies, will hunt at any time. hunters are regular warriors a lot of the time, but when starsearchers or skysearchers fail to find prey, hunters are called to duty. hunters are never expected to patrol so can easily focus on their jobs. they are most used during famine and oftentimes head to the empty land to find their prey. WATCHER ~ watchers work in shifts and are stationed at different parts of rivaling clans' borders to keep out unwanted cats. WARRIOR ~ warriors are exactly how they always are. Never expected to patrol, and if they hunt they hunt for themselves, though deposits to the fresh kill pile are always appreciated. QUEEN ~ a pregnant or mothering she-cat. queens live in the nursery and raise their kits until their kits are apprentices, at which point the queens become regular warriors again and live once more in the warrior's den or their own den. APPRENTICE ~ a trainee, essentially. apprentices hold their rank from the age of 6-12 moons. they train up under a cat of their chosen rank, though sometimes the leader chooses what rank they'll train for. KIT ~ a cat from age 0-6 moons. LOW-SOUL ~ typically any cat taken prisoner by crookedclan stays in this rank until they are trusted by the clan, at which point they are given the choice to either stay or return to their original clan. low-souls, also referred to as captives, are any cats from apprentice to elder age. if a kit is taken captive he or she is part of the clan and is raised by a caretaker.
