This drawing is an excuse to tell people about what's going on with the Israel/Palestine situation. Israel has occupied Palestine since 196, it did not start recently as some people think. People call this a war but really it's genocide, it's not a matter of Palestine or Israel, it's a problem of human rights. Israel cuts off Palestine from help, they kick them out of homes, don't let food and water get to the Palestinians. People say Israel is fighting Hamas, not Palestine, but Hamas wasn't created until after Israel was occupying Palestine. People also like to point out that Palestine has attacked Israel, if I were constantly attacked and cut off from basic human rights, I'd attack too. You can't let someone attack and hurt someone else and get mad when the attacked place fights back. I really don't understand how people don't see the problem. The U.S. has signed an agreement to protect Israel and stand on their side but that doesn't mean we can't try to change things. At the very least we can show the Palestinians we stand with them and keep hoping and fighting for change.
A few things to clarify: I am on Palestine's side, not Hamas'. I believe Hamas is wrong, but so is Israel. I do not have all the facts and encourage you to do your own research. Information about the drawing: Watermelon is a sign of Palestine because people there started using it as a symbol after Israel banned the flag The background is the Palestinian flag "From the river to the see, Palestine will be free" is a common protesting chant, not a terrorist thing like I've heard it called.
