“Yeah, hold on, let me find it. Police believe that Elizibeth Thatcher's father, Charles Thatcher may have been responsible for Elizibeth ending up in the woods, they believe that Mr. Thatcher came home and saw his daughters corpse and brought her to the woods so that his wife, Mrs. Thatcher didn’t have to see her daughter's body and an animal found her.” Jessica finishes reading the article and looks up. “Damn.” Brandon says, not knowing what else to say. A small smile flicks across Jessica’s face, barely noticeable but Brandon catches it and smiles. “Maybe the game she wants us to play is finding out what really happened to her, not just speculation.” Katies says, Spencer's arm wrapped around her waist. “Maybe.” Brandon says doubtfully,he has a feeling there’s something else, like that’s too easy. A few minutes later they all get a text from the group chat. D: How’s the game? Everyone looks at one another spooked and freaked. “What the f^k..is..this.” Jessica says, a hint of fear in her voice. Brandon can hear the fear in her voice so he walks over to where she is sitting and hugs her. “I don’t know.” He whispers to her soothingly. Katie pulls her phone out, I gotta go, it's getting late and I don’t want my parents to worry.” She says standing to her feet. “Yeah, same.” Spencer says, also getting up. They say quick goodbyes and go upstairs. Brandon looks at Jessica, “Do you also have to go or do you wanna watch a movie?” “No, and I’d love to watch a movie.” She says with a smile. Brandon goes upstairs to make some popcorn while Jessica chooses a movie. By the time he comes back downstairs Jessica has chosen a movie called Dear David that just came out about some guy having sleep paralysis from being haunted by some kid.
Brandon doesn’t really want to watch it but he also wants to be with Jessica so he agrees. He sits on the couch and puts the popcorn in between them but Jessica puts it in her lap and lays against him as the movie starts. Brandon hesitantly puts his arm around her and sees her smile which makes him smile as well. Halfway through the movie Jessica falls asleep on Brandon and he takes the popcorn off of her lap and slowly gets up, trying hard not to wake her up. He gets a blanket for her and covers her up, kissing her forehead lightly and whispering, “I love you.” Then he goes upstairs to also go to bed.
