Chapter 2: Haley Ughhhhhh I hate Mondays! Especially when Mondays are the first day of school. Why Mondays? Start on a Wednesday! Whatever. I walked to my vanity and did skincare and makeup (because I’m cool like that) and then got dressed. I didn't have swimming until 10:00 am, just classes. I packed my backpack and made some oatmeal for breakfast. Even looked dead when she came down for breakfast. Her hair was a mess, her face dirty. I was clearly the person for the job. I looked at my watch. 7:12 am. I had some time. “Aven!” I called, “Yea?” she replied, “Are you really planning to go into class like that?” I asked “Yea whats wrong with it?” “You look like you woke up 20 seconds ago.” “Oh..” I got some supplies from my room. A hairbrush, my makeup kit, and some nicer clothes. I got a lavender tee shirt and some white jeans. Then I went into her room, dug out some air force ones, and a backpack. I gave her the haul, told her to put on, and left for classes. I didn't pay much attention to the normal subjects, but worked hard in the swim ones. The set was a big change from what my old school's swim team was, but I was pretty ok with it. The set focused on what stroke the swimmer focused on, so if you swim freestyle, you did everything in freestyle with a quicker sendoff then if you did it in breaststroke. After classes, I went back to my dorm. I had what felt like HOURS of homework. I went to the kitchen and made some yogurt and granola. My snack was amazing and gave me enough energy to push through and finish my math homework. After I finished everything, I decided I wanted to get some more practice, “STELLA!” I called at what seemed to be the top of my lungs, “WANNA COME PRACTICE WITH ME?” I waited for what seemed like forever, and then Stella came to the kitchen, “Sure,” she said, “I’m all ready.” We walked down the hall of our building to the America Pool. The academy hosted people from five different countries, America, Canada, Scotland, England, and Australia. We were all in the America hall. At the end of each term, there was a school-wide olympics competition. The four best swimmers in each hall would participate. Stella and I got to the deck and put caps on. I started with dives and she started with starts (Backstrokers thinking their so cool because they don't have to dive) We then proceeded to do starts and turns, and ended with stroke development. Right as we were about to get out, a guard came into the pool and yelled, “EVEYBODY OUT, ITS CURFEW!” We scrambled to get out things and headed back to the dorm.
