I bought this knackered old Harken Heroe Sport Tourer on a bit of a whim really. I don't particularly love the styling of the saloon Heroe but there is something endearing to me about the Sport tourer. This model is a 2002 '16v Sport' meaning it has the 138hp 1.8L Petrol engine and 5 speed manual gearbox. I bought this from the scrap yard while picking up another car funnily enough (to be revealed shortly). Gary at the scrappy offered me it for £300 which was what it would be worth when weighed in for metal so I agreed - not even knowing what I'd do with it! As you can see it doesnt have a front bumper or passenger side door and the rear passenger side quarter window has been vandalised. There are however lots of good parts still to be sold on it. Much to the other half's dismay I think I may keep this one in the garden for dismantling and parting out for cash - I reckon theres a good 800 quids worth of body parts, cuts and trim as well as the engine which will surely sell for a bit too. (However the engine is high miles (210,000) so I doubt I'd get too much). The body itself is nearly fully rust free which is unlike anything else I buy! It's a shame the rest of this isnt in as good condition haha. For £300 it's really not worth me haemorrhaging money with it so I won't be restoring it like I have been doing with both my Scoppio and previous HOS cars. I doubt this will get updated much but when I come to get rid of it once the useful parts are gone I might take it banger racing....
