Poppets are a type of sympathetic Magick using a doll to represent another person/yourself. Not to be confused with voodoo dolls, which is a specific practice, poppets are for everyone. Many people associate poppets with baneful workings but they can be used for more than that. So how to you work with poppets? You can make them out of paper, fabric, vegetables, etc. Depending on how permanent the doll will be. But just a doll and intentions is not enough. You need what is called a taglock. A piece of hair, fingernails, full name and birthday. Then you can do a ritual to connect that person's spirit to the doll. Once you have a poppet, you have to keep it very safe. If you are using a temporary poppet and you need to get rid of it, thank the poppet and slowly take it apart. Remember to cleanse everything! This is just and overview and I may make a more in depth project later.
