Click for next slide I always heard of this show, as it is a super popular show in China. I went to China for the summer, and for a few weeks there was no cable. We watched the television. Well, they were playing Detective Conan (English name is Case Closed, but I like the original better) on the tv one day. I watched half an episode... And that got me launched into this whole new world. And now I am addicted to the show. It's a typical anime, but it is so greatly written, all the plots intertwining perfectly, the characters all carrying amazing and heroic backstories, and especially the family/relation trees. It is absolutly crazy. Like, list a slightly-important character in the anime and go around the relationship tree. Within three go's, you'll be looking at a main/supporting character. Everyone has met each other once or twice before, are cousins without knowing it, met this person's collegue ten years ago, etc. It doesn't sound impressive, but the sheer amount of characters that /exist/ in the first place is nuts. This show has been going for, like, 30 years now, with 1100+ episodes, 26 (or 27, I forgot) movies, and thousands of fanmade AMVs, plus a bunch of OVAs. So anyways, I love this anime. (Not that I watch any others, but I've heard One Piece is good.) Not really recommending anyone to watch it, because to truly understand it, you'll have to start from episode 1, which was aired 30+ years ago. I started the anime on episodes 900+, because I already knew pretty much everything from my mom and explaination online. And it was pretty fun finding out things by myself. It's a very complex show, considering politics, high-school level sciences, math, geography, and it follows a lot of g0r3 and stuff like that, with, er, /language/, but it is really intresting to see the detective(s) solve those "imposible" cases. So that's my little "speell". (Also I simp for one of the characters- the one with the blond hair and darkish skin) === Credits to @32Lohra for the original The quality is awful.
