Full screen not recomended. Colonists should not be taxed by the British! No on agreed to it in the first place and it was not fair. Even though they had to pay for the French and Indian War, it was not right. To start off, too much taxing is not good for the economy. It can make people not want to pay for items with too much tax. The Sons of Liberty threatened the tax collectors with physical threats and even attacking them. They were not happy about these taxes. All of these taxes led to tension with Great Britain. The Revolutionary War occurred because the colonists wanted their freedom. They wanted the right to govern themselves and be free. This war was very, very harsh and many people fought and died in this. They wanted their freedom from taxes and British rule. No one agreed to these taxes except for Great Britain. When the colonists tried to send King George III letters saying that this was not right, he did not even read them. He did not really care about the colonists complaints and continued to send them taxes to keep them under control. "No Taxation Without Representation!" Was a saying. The British just taxed them without anyone representing them. This is not fair because people would want to agree to something before doing it. If the colonists did agree to be taxed at a fair amount, they would probably not fight back. No one agreed to be taxed! Because of this, a war sparked into action. Many people got killed to be free. If the British taxed them with agreement from the colonies, the colonists would probably still be in peace with them today! To sum it all up, the colonists should not have been taxed. No one agreed to it in the first place, so it was not right. Even though Great Britain had to pay for the French and Indian War, they should have not taxed them without making sure it was okay with the colonists. This caused a lot of trouble in the economy. Fight for the patriots, no more taxes! We're counting on you! Thanks for reading all the way to the bottom!
