correcting people when they deadname/misgender you? always awkward. always difficult. here's a way to make it less awkward--funny even. works better if your friends are chaos enablers and/or also queer. for misgendering, there's a few phrases i use. there's the classic "did you just assume my gender?" and all similar phrases. for deadnaming, there's a few different ways you could go. 1. "its called a deadname 'cause if you say it you die." i personally have had great results with this, especially because i am no stranger to using violence and aggression to get my way (or just for fun), and my friends know this. 2. reffering to your deadname as your government name. take this as you will, but people may have decent results acting like it's some top-secret thing. could also work for misgendering, referring to your agab as your government assigned gender.
these methods will work better if you have a chaos enabler bestfriend.
