space/click Transcript: Manager App Trek's Application Some Things About Me I believe I have been a member since around 2021. I want to treat people as equally as possible and be kind to anyone I come across. I love star wars and I am in the furry fandom. I am also a therian and a trans guy. My views are more leftist and I try to gather all the sides of the story before creating an opinion on a situation. My Age Range and Time Zone I am in the age range of 13-16. I am a bit younger but am in high school. My timezone is PST and I try to be active as much as posisble, but obviously life can sometimes get in the way. Why I Would Be a Good Manager I have trouble providing good information on myself but I'll try. I think I would be a good manager because as I stated previously, I try to be fair and hear all sides before conducting my opinion. I think I can be good at solving conflict. I am not afraid to work with other managers to sort out a situation, and I just really want to help people. I think being manager would be a good learning experience as well. Downsides to Me Being a Manager Downsides to me being a manager would probably be how sometimes I can get a bit heated in conflicts. I am not afraid to stand up for my friends (which i guess could be a positive thing) and I can be a bit unfair to anyone who wrongs my friends, but I'm trying to work on that. I am not always online and sometimes my mental health prevents me from interacting and acting well. Unique Things I Could Bring I believe that my being a furry and a therian could shine more light on people like me. I am autistic and can understand how some people might interact differently and I can provide more kindness to that. I also am trying to be better and am open to learning new things. Stances on Studio Issues 1.) Hostility Towards Newcomers I think newcomers are usually quite innocent and so I don't think they should be met with such hostility. However, I do understand why people are suspicious of them because of the many sockpuppets we have encountered on the Hive. I think new people can be met with suspicious, but we should also be intereacting with them with kindness. Stances On Studio Issues cont'd 2.) Venting This is a controversial topic I believe and I can understand why. I honestly believe that the rule of only LGBTQ+ related venting is slightly weird because of the "safe space" that we are supposed to provide. Not everyone on the hive is LGBTQ+ and not everyone is always struggling with things related to this. I believe that small non LGBTQ+ vents are fine on the studio; I've seen them with no issues. (+) Stances On Studio Issues cont'd 3.) Ignoring Advice/Euphoria Comments I understand how some people might not be able to come up with good advice or not know what the right thing to say is. But why is it that these comments are passed by so often? I know it wouldn't be difficult to write a short comforting sentence to make someone feel better. Just a little bit of comfort can make someone's day. And as for advice, isn't that the whole point of this studio? To help people and be there for them? Stances On Studio Issues cont'd 4.) Exclusionism Towards Identities This is also quite controversial and I know why. Many people have different views on this kind of thing and it can be swayed by who they know or where they grew up. I think that some identities are kind of strange because the terms sound contradictory in my mind. I don't think that they are invalid, per say, but that they just don't seem right. But if someone states that it is their identitiy, then who am I to judge? Ultimately, its not for others to decided for people what is valid and what is not. Stances On Studio Issues cont'd 5.) Trigger Warnings I know some trigger warnings seem silly to others, but people are triggered by different things. You aren't owed an explanation, and if people need the warning what is the harm in a few extra letters? People should be allowed to talk about what they please (within cgs of course) and tws let them do that without making other people's experiences horrible. So even though it doesnt always make sense to me, I advocate for these when I can. What I Would Improve if Promoted If I were to become a manger, I would want to try and be more understanding towards others. I know what it's like to be excluded and misunderstood, and I think that I could use that to my advantage and better help others. I want to enforce rules better as well. I already try to enforce tws for caps and generally try to follow rules. I think I can help people do this better. Recommendations!! [cont'd below]
[cont'd from above] Alrighty. So my first recommendation would have to be @PrincessMeta. She is amazing at following rules, I have never seen her in drama, and I swear everyone loves her. Many Hivians have heard of her as well. My second is @FireFromHeat. They are very kind and I think they are also mature. My third recommendation would have to be @achilleanlove. H3 is an amazing person and always so fun to see around the hive. (+) (+)My fourth recommendation is @carovity. Carol is always reporting bad comments, is amazing at following rules, and I believe is good at resolving conflicts. My fifth is @not-anthony-stark. Honestly, why are they not already a manager?? They are amazing at conflict resolution, quite kind, and have been on the Hive for a while.
