But what if you were given a gift, and you didn't even know it?? Before that will make sense, let me tell you another thing we don't always realize. I think if we were all asked, "Would you be on Santa's good list or naughty list?" most of us would answer, "Good list." I mean, we're all pretty good people, right? That's what most of all think. But what if we were wrong? Think about it for a moment. How many lies have you told in your life? Have you ever stolen anything? Do you use bad language, or take God's name in vain, using it as a cuss word? Have you ever hated anyone, which the Bible compares to murder? (That one might take you by surprise, but think about it. Murder starts with hate in the heart, doesn't it?) For a lot of us, the answer to all those questions is "yes." Doesn't that mean we're lying, thieving, murderers at heart?? We don't look so good now, do we? But WAIT! That's where that gift we didn't know we were given comes in. You see, we don't take our sin very seriously, but God does. We deserve to be punished for our wickedness, and the Bible says all liars, thieves, and other sinners will depart in the lake of fire. It's what we deserve. But God loves us more than we could ever imagine, and He doesn't want that to happen to us. That's why Jesus came to Earth and suffered and died on the cross. He took all our sins upon Himself, so that if we only repent (be sorry for our sins and choose to turn from them) and put our faith in Jesus and His finished work on the cross, He will grant us eternal life in Heaven, where there will be no more tears or pain. And that's why we celebrate Christmas. When Jesus was born, God gave the best Gift anyone could ever give. And Jesus promises another gift: eternal life to all who come to Him in repentance and faith. I wish you all a very Merry Christmas! -------------- Special thanks to @ReinGear, who created the snow sprite for me, which I edited a little. Thanks again! :D Got music and sound effects by various people on Pixabay ^^ #Christmas
