episode 1 - a cry for help transcript [libby’s pov]: [the episode starts with the sounds of a city being demolished: bullets, burning buildings, faroff screams, etc.] hello?? you — stop! please, you don’t know what you’ve put yourself into. turn the radio or tv or listening device off. now. do it for your safety, and the safety of the ones you love. *long pause* *shaky inhale* if anyone is still listening to me, my name is libby, and this is a cry for help. war is raging between us and the government. the new tyro academy for young pupils was evacuated just now, and i’m afraid that we’ll never be inside a public building ever again. arson. that was the word slithering amongst the people outside the school like a snake. but one question remains — why? why would the government do such a thing to its own people? well, this is the answer — it’s unraveling. the government you trusted is not the same as it is now. something has happened, and it is up to us to figure out why. i guess it started on a normal day, like most things do. we heard a whirring noise, like a washing machine. it got louder and closer and many of us were afraid. the professor peeked out the window just in time to see the deep blue government plane with that telltale white eagle [half cut, of course], flying dangerously low. cue screaming and sirens and all that. the plane crashed, of course. right into the middle of the school building. the building was quickly evacuated, and the government made a service announcement of publicly apologizing to the people for “that little incident back there”. but it was a lie. honestly, when has the government ever been truthful about anything? they aren’t sorry, not at all. they’re burning down banks and holy sites and even public buildings like schools. they’re killing off interns and listener — what can we do? what can i do? my brother, my tobias…he’s as good as dead now. *heavy sigh* all we can do is wait, dear listener. wait for things to change. please, listener, stay safe. for the safety of everyone.
