Evenfallkit, texting: O Mulberrykit: What? Evenfallkit: Don’t read into that. Mulberrykit: But I will read into that. Evenfallkit: HOW?! IT’S A LETTER! Mulberrykit: Why is there a space after it, hmmmmm? Evenfallkit: Dude, really? Evenfallkit: It’s a f---ing letter. Mulberrykit: It could stand for something! Evenfallkit: IT DOESN’T, I PROMISE! Mulberrykit: Like Oppression! Or worse… Evenfallkit: Dude, I just typed the letter O, that means nothing. :/ Mulberrykit: Optometrist. Evenfallkit: Oh my God… Evenfallkit: Alright, so the vampire’s gravestone is— Mulberrykit: Cenotaph. Evenfallkit: What? Mulberrykit: It’s only a gravestone if it marks the location of a body. A monument honoring someone whose body isn’t present is a cenotaph. Evenfallkit: I'm... not sure that's how it works if the body gets up and walks away on its own. Mulberrykit: There's a precedent for gravestones being reclassified as cenotaphs if the body is later removed and reinterred elsewhere. There's no rule that says the body itself can't do the removing. Evenfallkit: Okay, but the body is very much coming back. That's kind of what we're here to accomplish. Mulberrykit: So it’s a temporary cenotaph. Evenfallkit: And naturally our greatest concern here is avoiding semantic ambiguity. Mulberrykit: Semantic ambiguity is how vampires get you. Nimbusstar: :) Mulberrykit: >:( Nimbusstar: Turn that frown upside down! Mulberrykit: ):< Nimbusstar: Not sure what I was expecting… Evenfallkit, grinning: Before you were what? Mulberrykit: Before I was- Evenfallkit: What? Mulberrykit: Before I was inter- Evenfallkit: Before you were interrupted? Mulberrykit: Cut me off one more time and I swear I'll- Evenfallkit: What? Mulberrykit: *makes frustrated sound* Nimbusstar, nervously: Stop that. Before they hurt you. Evenfallkit: I bet you can’t make a sentence without the letter “A”! Mulberrykit: You thought you just did something there, didn’t you? Well, sorry to burst your bubble, but numerous sentences could be constructed without employing the first letter of the English lexicon. Nimbusstar: You know, I really wish you’d just admit you made a mistake sometimes. Mulberrykit, stirring their coffee: I prefer it with salt.
