some time ago I watched ATSV (great movie, i recommend). And I noticed that a lot of spiderpeople get their powers from radioactive spiders. As almost all of my IRL friends know, i have an obsession with marie skłodowska-curie. so what if. what if she got spider powers. So meet L'Araignée Verte (French for Green Spider), a superhero active in Paris and its surrounding cities. Her real identity is Marie Skłodowska-Curie*. One day she was working in the lab, and a spider fell into her pitchblende supply. She didn't really care and tried to let the spider go on the counter, but then the spider, now very irradiated, bit her and she got spider powers (but more radioactive). Her webs are radioactive, and when she creates a web, her left eye gains x-ray vision for a few seconds. (She made Paris very radioactive in this world :P) So of course May tells her lab partner/husband Pierre (he's the only one who knows). She initially wants to tell the world what happened but then she goes out and defeats some criminals and she goes, "Maybe I should get into this hero-ing stuff. And I need a secret identity." so tada! l'araignée verte! she never gave that name to herself, it was the press that did that. Her canon event is that pierre dies :( (She's also my de facto spidersona since i don't have a proper one) *It's marie skłodowska-curie, but in this universe her name is may parker (short for marie skłodowska-parker) because COME ON
I know that marie skłodowska-curie is polish, but she would probably get her spider powers when she lived in paris. so french name #acrossthespiderverse #spidersona
