Ello and yus I have an art process [ filler ] for you guys. This time with a scene from the demon slayer manga. I did this art in Procreate. And warning: CONTAINS SOME PRETTY BAD QUALITY!! Especially the speedpaint. // N A V I G A T I O N // - click/space/arrows to advance - mouse down to zoom-in after the speed paint is done - press q to hide/show that red tab - click red tab at the bottom to see the number and what process it is(elaboration of the step can be read below) || A R T P R O C E S S || Pre-step I get my reference so I can trace it—NO I don’t trace it you know why!?? Cuz that’s bad artist etiquette! Seriously I don’t trace my references. 1. Sketch Ok ngl I don’t use sketches unless I totally need it and for any anime character I need it. I used a different color and layer for each character cuz it just makes it easier later on. 2. Lineart Again I did this on different layers for each character. And a thing you might notice is I made this lineart with an airbrush instead of the pen. And it’s just so much harder generally. ;-; 3. Base colors Ah yes the part where I nearly unalived myself. You know I used airbrush for that lineart right? Well that means I can’t conveniently use the colordrop tool at the top right corner in procreate. So I had to use the lasso tool(you can access it by pressing the top left corner button with and s on it). And that was torture! Seriously how do artists put up with this kind of abusive action??? T—T 3.5. Break time 4. Patterns/Add-ons Ok not the best way to call this step but whateves. This one was not quite as straining as the last since I just needed to add the flat designs on the characters. And I have never spent so long on a pair of eyes before. Seriously I have spent at least 15 min on Nezuko’s eyes alone 5. Background Detail Ain’t gonna lie I kinda cheated my way out with the floral design. I made my own snazzy brush for this. Cuz like are you seriously gonna draw every floral design individually??? Nah that’s too much work. 5.5. Break time 6. Shading/Lighting Would you call this rendering?? Since lighting source is not really clear I didn’t add as much hard lighting. Used airbrush again for this. 7. Editing the Luminosity You want the luminosity to look very magical. It basically determines the look of your art! 8. Adding Details Oh yes the tiny details that you don’t need to know are actually there. Can you find them? 9. Effects The effects go with the luminosity but also set a bit of an aesthetic for the art piece. 9.5. Statistics Lil’ pause. Look at that art statistic!! This is the legit screenshot of it! Like bruh, I [ wasted ] 10hrs worth of precious time!! >:0 10. Final Additions Yes finally I’m done! Just add my lil’ signature and I tis done!!! Thank for going through this process with me! The image after the speedpaint is the better quality vers. SIDE NOTE: this took literally 10hr to do and the original speedpaint is like 9 minutes long. So I shortened it to 30 seconds.
