Continent name: Chrysos Teras is the southernmost country on the map. It has the sandy shores to the west, mountains to the east, airy forests to the north, and meadowy plains to the south. The Teraskian government is a sort of republic ruled by a few wealthy nobles who are elected every half-decade (or when they die/retire, whichever comes first). They must vote on every decision they make; majority vote rules. Women are able to become part of the government and hold equal power as men. Koraki is the Teraskian capital city, with tall, spired buildings clustered together, bustling streets, and polished stone walls. It’s located to the north, near the forests. It has paved streets and running water. Dasaki is a Teraskian city to the southwest, in the marshy plains near the ocean, and is full of towering buildings, most made of wood, but some made of stone and brick. Many of which are drafty, leaning to the side, and leaky when it rains too much. It’s built around canals and has a lot of bridges, all the streets are cobblestone, and water is retrieved from a few wells. Xotiko is a quiet, unassuming small town with neat rows of small houses nestled in a southern meadow with a view of the mountain. The roads are all made of dirt and there are farmlands on the outskirts of the town. Anapnoi is the northern country in Chrysos. The southern part of it is covered in thick deciduous forests, the north is a river valley, rock-strewn beaches to the west, and rocky hills to the east. Anapoi is a monarchy ruled by a single sovereign (king/queen/title of choice). Succession is typically passed to the child of choice, but if the monarch failed to make a decision then the crown is passed to the eldest child. The monarch and their spouse have complete control of the kingdom but cannot make a decision without the approval of the other. If the monarch or their spouse are unable to produce an heir, then they may adopt an orphan and it will be legally considered an heir; if they fail to even adopt, then succession passes on to any cousins or other distant relatives before finally falling to a wealthy noble family. Women hold slightly more power than men, but are otherwise equal. Vios, the capital city of Ananpoi, is located in the river valley. It’s a spiraling city that builds on top of each other. It’s like a giant building made of polished blue-marble, with hollowed out hallways and rooms, with a palace built into the very core of it. Most merchants only go through the stone wall surrounding it to barter and sell and the goods are later transported into the city itself. Well-paid farmers work the fields outside the city and distribute foodstuffs throughout the kingdom. Nychta is located in the rocky eastern lands. The city is a complex system of burrows with several openings and skylights that open the land aboveground, while all of the actual city is underground. There are tunnels and hollowed out houses with disposal and running water system deep within the rocky walls. Klithra is a small seaside town that stretches out a couple hundred square kilometers out onto the ocean. It has small wooden houses with firm foundations, many of which can float in case they wash away. Every house is supplied with floating devices, oars, and a built-in waterproof chest with at least one compass.
