Edit 2: OKAYOKAY this is getting popular again so let me say some things 1. It sucks, but you /did/ agree to the licensing when you signed up for Scratch. If you post a project, anything in it falls under that licencing. (if you don't want it to fall under the licencing, post it elsewhere, not on Scratch) 2. All members of ST are people. They can never do something that would make everyone happy. Everyone all has different opinions and different ideas of what a good Scratch 3. They most definitely would lose funding if they changed the rules. Forget the licencing, there might not be a Scratch at all 4. ST has done some really good things, but it is really easy to focus on the negatives. For example, generative images with AI was considered, but ultimately rejected. They found it unethical and decided not to use it at all 5. It is not theft if they credit you. If they don't, THEN REPORT THEM!!! They have to credit you (they also have to make a meaningful change, but that is Scratch spacific) Edit: left for 7 hours... now I have 77 messages lol Full title: I'm not posting anymore characters to scratch (and you shouldn't either) Fullscreen recommend! Title is a bit of clickbait... But not really... People can also trace/recolor your art. I forgot to mention that lol
If you give away a design off-site and the designer posts it BEFORE, the design still has the license If the post it AFTER the design doesn't have the license since you didn't post it yourself. I'm not sure about character redesigns that aren't posted on scratch but the old design is.
