Announcement: Hi everyone. I haven’t been very active lately. This is partly because I’m taking take of my new gerbils, Daniel (brown one) and Emmet (black one). I also have to help my family out a lot due to our current situation, which I do not feel comfortable sharing. Plus, Christmas is coming. Anyways, I’m sorta on haitus ig. My Gerbils: I got Daniel on the 16th. He’s a very cute little guy! He’s a little younger than Daniel I think. He’s a Mongolian Gerbil, the most common type of gerbil to have as a pet, and he’s brown with some black and white. He’s more skittish than Emmet, but I think that’s because he was alone in his habitat at the pet store. He likes baby carrots, but I have to cut them into eighths for him. He also loves climbing onto my back when I hold him. I got Emmet today (the 22nd) and he’s also a Mongolian gerbil. He’s black, and he has a white triangle spot on his chin and a white stripe on his chest so it look like he’s wearing a tie! He does have a kink in his tail, but he seems like he healed from that awhile ago. He’s bigger and less skittish than Dan, but he’s still skittish because I’m socializing them both. Right now, I’m using the split cage method to introduce them. That’s why they don’t have a wheel, toys, hidey-hole, or dust bath yet. This is the best way to introduce gerbils safely. It’ll take 2 weeks or more for them to bond, but this method is the safest way to introduce them.
