AHHH I love this little dude! Name: Velvet Pronouns: He/him Age: 5yrs (in dog/cat/wolf aging) Likes: Fish, grass, His family, Dislikes: Spirits, fireflies, water, children. Personality: Aloof, caring, strong willed, introverted Backstory [WIP]: [ I’m still fleshing it out, but here’s his backstory] Velvet grew up in a town next to a forest witch was guarded by four spirits. One, a dragonfly spirit, one a wasp spirit, the other a bumblebee spirit and the last a firefly spirit. The town had been taking from the wild a lot more lately, chopping down trees, killing more food than they needed, polluting the river. By Velvets fourth birthday the spirits had had enough, they were determined to set things right, so they decided to visit the people of the town in peace. When they arrived the town was kind to them, allowing them to say as the people held great respect for the spirits, the town elder was deep in conversation with the spirits, discussing the situation. Once they had come to an agreement, the townspeople were only allowed to hunt a certain amount of food, chop a certain amount of trees and were banned completely form using the river for anything that could bring it harm. Three spirits were satisfied with this decision, but one was not. The firefly spirit was not convinced that the town would keep its promise to the spirits. She said that one townsfolk should be sacrificed to the spirits for every ten things they took form the forest, be it food or trees. Then they would be even, the firefly spirit said, the other spirits were not convinced, telling her that this course of action should not be necessary if the townspeople kept their promise. This caused the firefly spirit to lash out, running rampage through the town, destroying anything and everything in her path. She did this until the other spirits and townsfolk agreed to her proposal, but by now the entire village had be trampled into ruins. There was nothing to be done except for agree to the firefly spirits proposal. The first person was to me sacrificed to the spirits at midnight. Come the time no one was willing to give up their lives for the sake of the town, except for Velvet’s sister. She stepped up the the spirits, bowed, and allowed them to take her. The firefly spirit smiled, wrapped its wings around her, and let her return to her people. Velvet was overjoyed, assuming that the spirits had had a change of heart. But in that instant, Velvets sister began to turn into fireflies, slowly at first, but gradually getting faster, turning into bright greeny-blue fireflies. The spirits reassured the townsfolk that she would live out the rest of her life as a cluster of fireflies, quickly Velvet grabbed a firefly and shoved it into a bottle, determined to keep at least some of his sister. The next morning, most of the towns residents were leaving, including Velvet and his mother, they set out to find a new home with no spirits to interfere in their lives.
