“准备好了吗*?” Azara’s father queried, whilst putting on his coat and hat. “Yes,” the two sisters replied. “We’re going by car because it’s too risky to use brooms and I hate going by Floo Powder,” thieir father explained. They set off a few moments later. Inside the car, there was just about enough space for the three of them. The space left was for their luggage. The car was absoloutely stuffed. A fifteen minutes later, they found themselves ready to run into the wall to platform 9¾. They finally arrived just in time for the train. They found an empty cabin for themselves. After a few minutes, a girl called Emily Malfoy joined them. “H-hello! please can I sit here?” Emily asked, politely. “Yeah, of course!!” Azara replied. After a long while, they changed into their robes and went their separate ways. Azara couldn’t resist her mouth dropping open and, as she could see, some other first-year students also had their mouths wide open. “Wow,” Azara whispered, quietly. To her surprise, another first-year had heard her. “Yeah, i know, right?” said the girl. “Who the heck are you?!” “My name’s Milly Lovegood and this…is my twin, Izzy Lovegood,” said Milly, pointing a similar girl her age. “Well, IF we become friends, I hope we won’t, I DON’T want any distractions in lessons, okay?” “Okay.” She heard the whispers of the Lovegoods. “Are you really sure about being friends with her?” “Yeah. It’ll just take a while.” Azara walked away and went on a boat. She might’ve been a little mean just then. Azara pushed away the thought. Suddenly, there was a booming voice. “All righ’ first-years! Follow me to the castle!” Hagrid shouted, over the excited voices of the children. The Great Hall was surrounded by lights and the tables were in neat rows. Once everyone had settled down and the first-years were in a group, in front of the tables. Dumbledore had began his speech. “Welcome back to another year at Hogwarts! And welcome, first-years! Let the sorting begin!” The Sorting Hat began its song. “You may not think I'm pretty, But don't judge on what you see, I'll eat myself if you can find A smarter hat than me. You can keep your bowlers black, Your top hats sleek and tall, For I'm the Hogwarts Sorting Hat And I can cap them all. There's nothing hidden in your head The Sorting Hat can't see, So try me on and I will tell you Where you ought to be. You might belong in Gryffindor, Where dwell the brave at heart, Their daring, nerve and chivalry Set Gryffindors apart; You might belong in Hufflepuff, Where they are just and loyal, Those patient Hufflepuffs are true And unafraid of toil; Or yet in wise old Ravenclaw, If you've a ready mind, Where those of wit and learning, Will always find their kind; Or perhaps in Slytherin You'll make your real friends, Those cunning folk use any means To achieve their ends. So put me on! Don't be afraid! And don't get in a flap! You're in safe hands (though I have none) For I'm a Thinking Cap!” “Lestrange, Isla!” Professor McGonagall shouted over the top of the nervous voices of first-years. Murmurs went around the room. A Lestrange? Many people edged away. “RAVENCLAW!!” “Chang, Everleigh!” “Is she the adopted one?” “Shhh! She’ll hear us!!” Azara looked at the girl who just sat on the stool. “She looks kind, deep inside. I don’t think they should talk behind her back like that…” Azara thought, tensly. A moment later, the Sorting Hat shouted, “RAVENCLAW!!” “Lovegood, Isabelle!” “GRYFFINDOR!!” “Lovegood, Milly!” “RAVENCLAW!!” “Malfoy, Melody!” A…Malfoy?? Azara turned to look over at Draco. Proudly smiling, Draco whispered to Crabbe and Goyle that Melody was his sister. “SLYTHERIN!!” “Evans, William!” “SLYTHERIN!!” The slytherin table roared with greetings. “That‘s enough, thank you very much!” Professor McGonagall snapped, narrowing her lips. A second later, she looked a smidge shocked. “Slytherin, Azara!” “Is she a descendant of Salazar Slytherin?” “She‘s Chinese!” “What the heck?!” Mila gave them dirty looks. “Interesting…You‘d do quite well in Hufflepuff! But not exactly. Slytherin, obviously would be good. But then and again, Ravenclaw would be the best choice. Gryffindor suits your personality perfectly! But it doesn‘t quite feel right…Perhaps Slytherin is the safest option of all?” the Sorting Hat wondered. “No. No, no, no. This will not do at all. Come and see me in Dumbledore‘s office tomorrow, noon. Professor McGonagall shall escort you.” Azara nodded and the professor took off the hat from Azara. “Stay in the Slytherin dormitory and table for now,” McGonagall said. *****
