Celiac disease literally said "Lol no" I miss Top Ramen so much, ugh. Essentially, celiac disease is an autoimmune disorder where, when you eat gluten (a protein found in wheat, rye, and barley), your immune system will start attacking your intestines because they see the gluten as a threat. Kind of like an allergy but not quite because the immune system attacks your own organs over it? Anyway, the effects can get pretty gross, digestive wise. We'll just say I don't keep anything down. It'll give me a super horrible stomach ache also. And eating gluten for prolonged periods of time can cause long-term intestinal damage and cause severe malnutrition because your intestines aren't able to absorb anything properly after being so damaged. And because of this, there can be a risk of cancer and organ failure So I just gotta stick to a gluten free diet for the rest of my life, unless scientists and researchers can find effective treatment for it. Anyway, no cake, no cookies, no bread, no brownies, no Top Ramen, no hot pockets, no corn dogs, no Spaghettios, no pasta, no pizza rolls, none of that. Sometimes I'll eat a tiny bite or two, but nothing more or I'll end up writhing and shouting in pain next to the toilet for the rest of the day Lol There are gluten-free versions of a lot of those things too though. Sometimes at restaurants though, they don't take a gluten-free diet seriously because they'll assume it's some fad weight loss thing and give you "gluten-free" food that was contaminated with gluten and I get really sick. Makes me want to slap them It's all good though. It's been over 2 years since I last had a reaction from accidental gluten intake. It sounds horrible but you get used to eating gluten-free things. Some things you miss though, like shrimp top ramen. Celiac isn't the worst thing in the world but it isn't the best either
