“Your majesty?” Knight asked, struggling not to blush, or show any emotions, a voice crack is what he got for his troubles of trying to stay neutral towards Shadow… Shadow was the king now, and he was only a knight… There was nothing between them that should happen. “Sorry,” Shadow said, looking away and heading to the dining room, Knight trailing behind him without a word. Shadow sat at the table, with Knight behind him. It was his duty to guard him now, but his mind was racing with thoughts of what happened earlier. Shadow tried to ignore what had happened earlier, but it kept on invading his mind. His thoughts were interrupted when plates of food were placed on the table. He looked at the food like it had done him wrong, he was disgusted with the food. He was a shadow entity, he didn’t need human food.
“What is this?” Shadow asked, looking down at the food a human would be drooling over. A servant walked out and replied quickly, “Oatmeal, bacon, eggs an-,” “Human food? You didn’t ask what I wanted.” The servant started to panic until Shadow let out a loud laugh. It was a low rumbling noise. He looks at the servant. “I don’t eat human food but… I guess I'll try it for this once,” he said hesitantly, taking a bite of bacon. Knight noticed his mask was off. “He never takes his mask off,” Knight thought. He tried to step forward a little to get a view of his face when he looked up to see the horrified look on the servant's face. Knight's thoughts were everywhere ‘What is he seeing? What is so scary?’ That’s when Shadow had put on his mask again. “It tastes like… Pig but burnt…” The servant looked confused when he heard that. He raised an eyebrow and said, “Burnt pig?” Shadow nodded and looked back at Knight. “What next?” He asked, Knight took pity on him and decided to help him learn about the food humans ate,and soon they grew closer as the day dragged on. Time was dragging on, they couldn’t tell how much time passed as they spent their time together. Knight walked beside him the entire time, talking to him about the most random things now. “Well what's your favorite game?” Knight asked. “Probably the mêlée games,”' Shadow replied. “Dangerous game,” Knight tutted.. “What about…Hmm… What type of girls do you like?” Knight asked, smirking. “None,” Shadow said quickly. Knight looked curious. “None? What do you mea-”, He thought, ‘Wait… He doesn’t like girls so…. Oh! He starts to blush a little. “Do you like...Boys?” He asked, looking away, feeling his face heating up. Shadow did not respond but thought, ‘Do I?’ Shadow suddenly darted off. “WAIT!” Knight ran after him, swerving and avoiding the servants and grand objects in the halls, l when he caught up to him to the old ballroom, it was dusty and had cobwebs everywhere, it hadn't been used after the princess died. Shadow was in the middle of the room. Knight walked in reluctantly, eyeing the room warily. “Shadow? What are you doing in here?” Knight asked hesitantly.. “I have a question,” Shadow rumbled, it never failed to make Knight’s heart beat faster to the point where he was sure Shadow could hear it. “Y-you can ask anything…” Knight said, his voice shaking a little. “Who do you like?” Shadow asked, inclined to know the answer.Knight backed up a little and thought, “Who do I like? I don’t know… Well I do but if I tell him…” “Shadow let’s just-,” “Who… You can tell me,” He started unsure, but grew more confident.“Sh-shadow… please…” Knight stuttered, not wanting to say who it was. Shadow turned to face him, he had taken his mask off, which showed the scars all over his face, showing the past he wanted to keep hidden.. His teeth were serrated, they looked like teeth a shark would have. Knight gasped in shock, looking at his face.. “What happened to you… What did they do…” Knight asked, his voice cracked, but it also sounded sad.
